Calories and Nutrition Facts In Pineapple:

pineapple is an excellent source of vitamin C and manganese. It is also a good source of vitamin B1, vitamin B6, copper and dietary fiber.

According to Jonny Bowden, "pineapples claim to fame the fact that it contains bromelain, a rich source of enzymes that has many health benefits, including aiding digestion, speeding wound healing, and reducing inflammation."

However, much of the bromelain is in the stem, which is something we don't normally eat. However, supplements are extracted from the stem. It is strongly suspected that this enzyme has unique health promoting properties, which include helping to fight tumor growth.

High Amounts Of Manganese Which Can Help With Your Energy

Manganese is a "trace mineral" which are helpful in turning more of your food into energy. The subject of how to get more energy has been popular in the PEERtrainer community.

It would seem that pineapple would make an excellent dessert. It is high in sugar, but it has a powerful taste and could sooth the sweet tooth. At a minimum it would be an excellent replacement for any other "traditional" dessert.

For those of you following the PEERtrainer Cheat System, we definitely favor greens due to the higher nutrient density and lower sugar content.

However, you definitely want to make sure you get a good variety of fruits during your week. Variety is the key, because it seems that each fruit we investigate has a different property that makes it totally unique from a health perspective.
