I can't seem to get rid of my acne! i've tried many things, even proactive, but nothing works. It's not horrible acne, more redness and uneven coloring than huge pimples. I'm using clearasil and Neutrogena and it helps but it won't just take it away! Any food or ANYTHING that will clear this up?

have you tried eliminating dairy? Dairy makes a lot of people break out.

For me, any kind of corn or corn derivative (glucose-fructose, erythritol, corn starch, corn syrup, xanthum gum, etc., etc.,) will make me break out. And no skin care product will prevent a break up if I have corn.

Could be your acne is related to food, and you might have to try an emlimination diet for a week.

I used Acutane a few years back and it worked like a charm. You'll need to see your doctor about it - if you are woman of childbearing years, you'll have to take birthcontrol while on this stuff - scary side effects if you become pregnant.

My face will occasionally break out now, but very, very mild. Now it will break out if I'm about to enter "that time of month" or if eat a couple fast food meals within a few days of each other - it causes havoc on my face now... another good reason to stay away from fast food drive thrus!

check out a dermatologist. they have some amazing drugs. i recently went for something else and he sold me some acne stuff - great results.

you might consider birth control. that really helps too.

oh, and this may not apply to you directly, but quit touching your face, messing with the pimples, etc. it is a habit just like anything else. you just have to break it. but they generally go away quicker. not so many clusters of them too.

9:16- if you have a suggestion other than drugs then share it, instead of judging what works for some and are happy to share the results.

I avoid drugs for most things, but I went to the dermatologist when my adult acne was driving me nuts. He prescribed one round of monocyclin (I think?!) and it knocked out the acne for years. It was wonderful!!

If you're more interested in pursuing the dietary stuff, just google 'acne and food' and you'll get info on some foods to consider eliminating.

congrats 9:55, I did suggest checking to see if food could be a problem before the amazement at the cavalier "take some drugs" attitude. Soooooooo why don't you quit making assumptions, and seeing as you seem to be keen on drugs, go take one to mellow you out :)

i made the initial 'drug' statement - it is like a cream that requires a perscription. it works like a champ. highly recommend you visit a dermatologist. the acne treatments they have now are way better than they were years ago. sometimes hormones are really the reason for acne, so drugs can chill out the outbreaks. the pill form, like the one the woman mentioned, sounds great though and can work well.
