Sugar Free water mixes

I have started W.W. with the new year and have been making sure to get my 64oz in per day.I don't really care for plain water and have been adding the sugar free flavored additives. A friend of mine told me that my water don't really count as waters than. Is this true?

I use to go to WW and they told me any type of sugar free colored water is fine.

I was told in a WW meeting that any liquid that was sugar free and caffiene free would count as a serving of water up to half of your daily needs. The rest needs to be actual water and not a drink like decafe tea.

If you start with water, and add to it, then it counts as water. You just need to watch what goes into it and count it in your day. If it has calories, count the calories (obviously), but, if it doesn't have calories, then watch the sodium, etc. If the purpose of water is to flush your system, but you're adding excess sodium in order to get the water, then you end up needing more water overall.

I'm not sure about the half water, half water plus additives theory, because, what if you just made all of your water have additives, but at half strength? Or, half the water you made with additives, but doubled the strength of the additive? Just doesn't quite make sense.

And water with decaffeinated tea added (via tea leaves/tea bag, not the fake powdered stuff) is definitely water. What else could it be?

I don't know the answer to your ww question as I don't know ww. But I would think that the point of water is to flush your system. If you put additives in it, especially the aspartame and such you then need to flush that from your system. But that being said if you can't make yourself drink water and this helps you then by all means do what works. And as you do that try to up the pure water that you drink. Start somewhere and work toward better.
