I want to gain weight, not lose it
Please, I need helpul tips on how to gain weight... I use to gain 156lbs, and loved it, but after two years i shedded those lbs away. I want my weight back. I use to be so happy and comfortable with my body, but not anymore. I no longer fit in my jeans. I would hate the idea of going under weight, that just yucky!!!

3.52, what a rude comment!
OP, try some complex carbs with every meal... whole wheat pasta, bread etc.
Also, figure out your daily caloric needs based on weight and activity level, and eat about 500 calories more.
Also, less cardio, more weight training =]
Good luck!!

I know how I gained weight. I ate way too much food and not the right kinds. But some people can do that and burn it off. I don't know what your specific issue is.
But whatever the case eat healthy foods. It is so much better for your body.
Also you might try adding protien drinks to your diet. I don't know if you have a wal mart but they sell them in a gallon jug and it is powdered. You mix it with milk. My mom thought they were good.
I can't imagine having your problem but I know there are many who do and they find it as frustrating as I do having to lose weight.

OP are you a man or woman?

I personally think you need to find out what a BMR (how many cals your body burns) and then you can figure out how much you need to eat to gain weight at a steady healthy pace.

Maybe the bananas filled you up during the day so you wouldn't want to eat more of other things?

it was a suggestion of healthy ways to inrease your calories.
Inorder to have lost weight you put the calories into a healthy low cal diet. Great for you! Congrats!
If this person wants to gain weight- it was suggested to eat more of the good stuff...

Well, it is just a simple equation. Eat more than you expend to gain weight! Bananas are high in calories and carbs but still have a lot of nutritional values. So, it is a healthy way bring in more calories in to your diet, so are nuts and avocado. It is not true that only food containing fat could make you fat. If you eat more calories than what your body needs, your body is going to gain weight!
