is Weight Watchers a diet?
i'm seeing all these ads saying that Weight Watchers is not a diet. But this seems misleading because I have been starving whenever I am on it. Seems like a diet to me.

Absolutely not! It is a way of life. It teaches you about food and about portions and what your body needs and doesn't need. You shouldn't be hungry if you are using your points wisely.

its a diet. Diet refers to anything you eat. you cna have a diet of candy and soda if you wish- but i dont suggest it.
Btu i still think that it is a diet of convential terms- it reduces the calories you eat. Eventually it can become a life style.

Hang in there - it doesn't matter what you do or what they call it - when you make changes in your eating habits there is a period of adjustment. Some of those feelings are true hunger b/c you're now eating less than you're used to (and your stomach hasn't had time to shrink yet), but just as often it's the adjustment of not caving into every craving you have, which can be even more powerful and anxiety producing than sitting with some hunger pangs (which come and go if you give them a chance!)
And like the PP said, when you eat good foods (using those points wisely) you will get to a point where you won't feel like you're starving. Just give your body and mind some time to adjust.
As an aside, reading The Beck Diet Solution is a great companion to anything you choose - it deals with all those mental roadblocks we face when we're trying to lose weight. It really helps change your mindset about losing weight and what it takes to do it.
Good luck, OP. You can do it.

ww is a diet, but it's also a way of eating healthy as a lifestyle. I was hungry the first week, but then it stopped. If you're hungry, maybe have some fruits and vegetables and then you also have your 35 points for the day. Hang in there. I've lost 47 lbs.
