Just celebrating!

I dumped an entire tin of chocolate covered walnuts in the trash!!! Not into my body!!!

I also had 250 calories more than I had planned for today, but I stopped at that instead of having a binge!

Nice Job!

To steal the phrase I've heard many times here: Better go to waste than to your waist!

That's so great, OP! I just read an article that said - 'Studies are very clear that the ability to throw away food is a great indicator of an ability to lose weight.' So, yay for you :)

Love that, 8:56! It's so true. Food will either be wasted on your body or in the trash - take your pick!

I love that you stopped at that and didn't consider the day "ruined" anyways because you are 250 calories over. NICE WORK :)

That's great you didn't just throw in the towel after going over your calorie goal! I remember reading something somewhere that stuck out: You can stop a binge at any moment. 1 package of cookies is better than 1 package of cookies and a pint of ice cream!

Good for you, OP!

Congrats! Way to not let the day be ruined! You are moving in the right direction!

I know that my dh has a problem with throwing food away. He *used* to clean his plate every night. Now, I just give him less and he's never said anything about it!

OP here. I have come a long way from binge eating. I used to binge almost every day! When I go to restaurants and I feel bad about not eating all the food, I just tell myself, "You've already paid for the food. Do you want to pay for it once or twice?" Meaning: It's either wasted on my plate or wasted in my body. By wasting it in my body, I'm paying for it twice.

I feel the same way about throwing food in the garbage at home. It's just food. It's just money. This is my body we are talking about here! Worth so much more than that junky food. I don't want to hurt it, it's very good to me. I wouldn't feed my cats garbage when I know it's going to hurt them, why would I do that to myself?

I have changed my way of thinking so much since I've started PT and I'm happy to celebrate my small victories along the way with all of you! Thank you!

That is so cool OP.
Every accomplishment adds up and makes us stronger.
I appreciate the comments too. I really struggle to throw food away. It is so expensive to eat healthy as it is. But I just don't have the room in my stomach anymore.
It is nice to hear another way to look at it.
