Ok New Mom here have a three month old...had a c-sec... feeling good now. I am running again and back at the gym..have been doing ab workouts as well. I still am not loving the body here. Please throw me any suggestions, my main concern is the belly holy crap it is actually depressing me to see it!
I just keep saying that it was all worth it like a trophy or something for the amazing gift I got a beautiful healthy boy.Bottom line not feeling good or healthy about myself!

Oh stop - 1:55. When you're pregnant no one ever tells you about the belly - NO ONE! So, it's a shocker to see that thing once the baby has arrived. I was honestly torn between being fascinated and repulsed myself! I still remember that thing flopping around when I got back to more vigorous exercise (insert shudder here.)

Some women bounce back and get their old bellies back others do not. You might look the same in clothes, but naked can be a whole 'nother story. I, unfortunately, am in the latter camp. I have lost all my weight, I'm back to a size 2/4, but I still have the weirdo belly. I'd look fine in a one piece, but forget the bikini. Could be an age factor, genetics, how much weight was gained, etc, but it does vary.

It is still early for you, so don't despair. For me, every SINGLE POUND made a difference. The less I weigh, the tighter everything looks and feels. Even a pound or two makes a difference for me. Until you're done nursing - if you are - just focus on the nutrition - not hard core weight loss. I think eating less processed foods helps our bodies and I am definitely less 'poofy' there when I eat more whole foods.

BTW - CONGRATS!!! What an exciting time for you :)

I've had 3 c-sections. It takes TIME. Everyone is different, your stomach didn't blow itself out in 12 weeks so don't expect it to go back in 12 weeks. Also, it might forever look different, that is why they have plastic surgeons. My friend's stomach was a mess (she is a small girl who had big babies) all kinds of purple stretch marks, white stretch marks, shiny marks and skin that looked like someone had put a hot iron on it. Guess what she took out a loan, had a tummy tuck and is tinier and flatter in the stomach than ever, its CONCAVE. I know not everyone can afford to do that or would even want to, i'm just saying it is an option if you are in fact so frantic about it.

I've lost all my pregnancy weight and then some but I don't think my tummy will ever be the same. I had a c-section as well and there are parts of my stomach that have NO feeling in the skin - kind of creepy. Got rid of all the 2-pc. bathing suits, but I look awesome in a 1-pc! As you lose weight your belly will get smaller but be patient! It took me 8 months to lose all mine! Just remember what a beautiful baby your have and it'll all be worth it.

I reallywish I could afford the tummy tuck...my stomach looks terrible, too. Thank goodness my hubby still loves me.

1:55 Not vain just that sharing my true feelings here and looking for advice and perhaps others experiences is what it is all about...
To all the others who commented thank you for taking the time to let me know the real side of post pregnancy. Why does no one talk about these things before pregnancy? Ya know just the true side of these topics. Well I wish you all a great night

its talked about all the time, i suppose when it is your first child though you might be paying more attention to the more important stuff, which is growing a healthy baby. you'll be fine - if you stay on it you will have no problem

People told me "your stomach will never be the same" but you can't really understand it until your tummy is hanging down there.

I felt like a flabby mess after my child was born, too. I also was surprised that the "media machine" had me feeling bad that I didn't look like a celebrity mom. Hang in there OP, I am impressed that you are running 3 mos PP. Try Pilates, that helped me a lot.

No one ever talked about the belly thing when I was pregnant with my first. It wasn't until I had the belly that moms started telling me, 'Oh yeah, I've got that, too.'

Sometimes what happens to some women when pregnant is the uterine wall push out the muscles and makes them stretch, I can't remember what its called, I watch a lot of doctor surgery shows and they talk about this all the time. So the underlying muscle wall has gotten stretched and relaxed, unfortunately if it was decent damage it will never be the same thats why you can lose the weight and tone and build muscle but that soft belly is still there.
