take CLA & green tea on full or empty stomach? & how much?

For those that these supplements have helped, do you take them before or after you eat? I have heard contradicting info.

Also, do you take the recommended does (e.g., 3 Tonalin pills/day, 2 green teas/day) or do you increase it to ensure you get 3.4g of CLA/day.

Right now I'm just taking the recommended dosage (3 CLA, 2 GT per day) but I just started with this.

Finally, anyone OFF these supplements have any changes - good or bad (e.g., maintaining weight, gaining, or health issues)?
