I need immediate negative consequences.

Positive reinforcement and "long term" health threats are really not working for me.... I get into funks and I just don't care. I am really considering Alli to give me the immediate threat to motivate me... any one else feel this way?

Some people need different kinds of reinforcements and threats. If this is something you feel you need only you can decide what would work best for you. It can't hurt to try it if you are aware of what could happen while taking it and you end up "not caring" and thats helps to keep you in line and start caring then go for it.

Are you just giving up after a few weeks/days because you're not seeing results?

If that's the case, don't give up! I was the same way for several years with my eating (was always a regular exerciser). But since early this fall, I've been on a roll and haven't given up despite not seeing real physical results but the scale is going down (I don't have a lot to lose-- about 20+ pounds). I used to give up because I wanted immediate results and my weight fluctuates, but now I'm realizing that I can have the body I've always dreamed. It just takes patience and after about a month, you get used to eating less. It's going on 5 months now and I don't have those urges to binge. Now, it's just a matter of me counting calories to get this weight off, now that I'm no longer binging. Personally, I wouldn't take Alli...seems too restrictive b/c you have to watch your fat intake, from my understanding. But good luck!

I wish long term health threats had been enough when I was younger. Time goes so quickly and my body has paid the price. I am young and my body is old. Don't quickly dismiss the fact that overeating and lack of exercise ruin your health.
You never know how your person health will be affected. I would have thought I just wouldn't be able to work.... Not the day after day pain and depression that goes with it.
Take care of yourself you only have one you.
Best of luck

Keep in my mind that while you might see immediate effects as far as weight loss, alli and other diet pills have long-term effects too. Don't give up. I personally don't battle with my weight but with working out consistently and eating well. Do you want a life-style change or immediate gratification?
