EMAIL THREAD
PEERtrainer
Why do threads disappear? I thought this was an open forum?
Thu. Jan 19, 1:13pm
What I love about this community is that there is very little stuff that would need to be removed. Most people are positive and helpful.

which threads have disappeared?

Maybe it's some of the really rude ones I've read. Maybe we should have usernames on the messages, I think people wouldn't be so "bold".

It happened to one of my threads
I once posted a thread to see how people had happened upon this place in the first place and it got removed. I'm not sure why, unless they need to keep there advertising secret for some reason- oh well.

I agree, and I've posted it before, that we should have usernames on the messages. It's very easy to be rude when you're anonymous. It would also give the community more of a "community" feel if we knew who we were talking to.

I am the OP and I agree with the last poster. Just like in our group notes. Our names should be attached to our posts here.
Not just to control people being mean, but so we can feel more comfortabe with recommendations others put on here and like the previous poster said. to feel like a community.
Better yet, we can add our names in as well.

I have asked that myself,
I understand that some people want to ask questions in anonimity, but I think that if their questions are helpful and legitimate, there should be no problem in attaching their screen name. It cuts down on "flaming" (posting just to get a rise out of people).
Plus, sometimes, a person may post a message and someone may want to respond to ask a question to that particualar poster.
I wonder also, if a "Private Message" feature can be added in the "public forums"? It would make it easier for 1 person to contact another privately, to join a group, etc....

By the way, I made the post just above me.

I am beginning to think that the peertrainer threads should be moved to a suggestion box or something. These are getting monotonous.

Another question to PT, I think it might be nice to add an "edit feature" to your forum section-- i.e. where, if someone makes a typo, or wants to change their message in the public forums, they have about 5-10 minutes to do so... Sometimes, when making a long post, you realize after hitting "send" that you needed to change something...
Allowing the posters to "edit" would make it easier to make corrections in a recipe, or to let that person "soften their tone" on a message-- Sometimes people may not want to be harsh, but they end up sounding that way unintentionally because you can't set a "tone of voice" into text...etc....

A good suggestion, but maybe it should be sent directly to peertrainer. They leave this message all the time, to send it to their customer service. I'm sure they would be responsive. Let's try to stop these suggestion threads here.

are threads really disappearing? The order changes around when someone posts again -- so the most active ones go to the top. So its hard to find old ones sometimes...
