The last 3 months I am unsure but I have been losing consistantly 20 pounds a month.
But don't get caught up in numbers everyone loses at a different rate. So many factors.

I have a hard time believing the last poster. 20 pounds EVERY month? I think that might be for real if you were a 400 pound person and just started out 2 months ago but typically the weight loss slows down, Even a consistent 3 pounds a week is hard to maintain. The average person who counts cals, exercises for an hour a day 6 days a week, doesn't even lose 3 pounds EVERY week. So either your are a very heavy person who just started or you are lying.

I'm guessing either a liar, or 20 lbs as a 3-month total, or a 400-lb man.

I managed to get down to my goal weight these last three months - finally! They were my last 10 pounds and geez - it wasn't easy. The last time I lost weight (pre-baby) I dropped about 22 pounds in 12 weeks. I had never been as diligent about food or exercise in my life!

The slower the loss the less likely you are to regain it because the habits that helped you get there are more likely to stick with you. I have loss 50 pounds over the course of 2007, I have another 50 to go and if it takes me another year or even longer so be it cause I know those old eating habits will not get in my way. It really is about a lifestyle change its not just a diet. After all a diet is what you pput into your body its not a curse.

I agree the person is a liar, I don't know anyone who continually losses 20 pounds a month unless of course they are a speed freak and even then the weight loss slows down.

The fact is the more weight you have to lose the more you will lose in the first few months but it will tapper off. Say someone has 150 pounds to lose and is 5'5 its logical with portion control and eating healthier and moving more that that person will lose weight faster then someone the same height who has 50 pounds to lose. And if it is a man he will lose more weight faster in the beginning. I go to WW meetings and there is a man there who is about 300 pounds overweight, the first 2 months he loss 41 pounds and that was just from counting points and eating healthier, no exercise. It has been 5 months now and he is still going strong but his loss has slowed a lot, but he is down 68 pounds.

I started beginning of Nov., 11/6 to be exact and have lost 17 lbs. I was not large to begin with, had about 25 pounds total to lose to get to what I believe is my ideal weight. Where I am now, my BMI states that I am healthy, I am currently 5 ft 2 in. and weigh 126 - so I didn't have a ton to lose but some people say I lost it fast. Not true, just tried a different approach and increased the exercise. I am not obsesessed, am not starving myself (in fact, eating approx. 6 times per day!) and it's working. My point is, regardless of how much you have to lose, it's all in the approach, your metabolism, your exercise routine, etc. Alot goes into "how much you can lose in 3 mos!"

i've heard on average with WW program, you can lose between 2-3 lbs/wk, so that would be 8-12lbs/mo, so 24-36lbs in 3 months.

I am the 9:37 poster and I have to say thanks you guys for the support. (with all the sarcasm I can muster)
I can't believe that I could come to a sight like this for support and tell the truth and be called a liar repeatedly.
First I am a woman. Second I am very overweight. And third I am very strict with what I eat.
I have never had trouble losing weight. It comes off faster than it goes on. What I have a hard time with is keeping it off.
So before you question someones honesty, think! There is a reason I said, "So many factors"
