Young? Black? Want to Join?
Hi, I'm looking for those young African Americans I know are out there somewhere on peer trainer who are looking for a group composed of the same.

I'll join but sometimes other members become offended by groups such as young...what's young? black...can any other's join? What's the group name?

i AGREE ENOUGH WITH THE BLACK...i DID NOT READ ABOUT ANY WHITE YOUNG GROUPS OR CHINESE YOUNG GROUPS

But there are Christian groups out there seeking others. How come that's not offensive , or is it (to you who were offended by the OP's request)

In answer to your question Christianity is a religion not a Race! That is the difference. In religion we want to be seperate and different in race we should work on becoming more unified other wise too many racist offenses occur, like discrimination...and yet there are blacke who continue to want to be separated!

You see lots of threads calling for specific groups
Whether it's for 'moms', 'teens', 'Harley lovers', etc., people like to be with others they can relate to. So, someone who is young and black wants to form a group with the same - why does this bother someone so much? If you're not a teen or you're not a mom or you're not a Christian or you're not black and so on and so on - then chances are there are some things about that group that you won't relate to - it's not your experience.
And you don't see groups for whites (or groups for heterosexuals, for that matter) b/c majority groups don't identify with what makes them the same as most everyone else. Go to a website that's primarily visited by black users - you don't have this post - you've got the thread that says 'Young and white - join my group!'

I disagree..I do not believe that whites post in that manner , but once again you have made my point..blacks are continuously complaining that they are treated different and yet many of them continue to segragate themselves over and over again. I am saddened by this b/c it should not be that way, I wish it were different that the black/white issues were not so important but instaed that we are all just people trying to do the same thing in life..make it through with lots of good people around to love us and make the world go round..It was great chatting with you, Take care and happy health to you..
To the orginator of this thread I hope you get the group you are looking for b/c truly if it makes you all get healthier then your goal is becoming mission accomplished. Good Luck!

I recently joined a group from shorter people b/c in weightloss we have similar issues. Many African Americans face the same issues, diabetic, body image, etc.
Let people be in the group that they want to be in...

Exactly!

young/old/black/white/gay/straight/ WHATEVER - i just want to be in a group where people actually post stuff - i'm in 4 groups and there is only one other person that consistently posts anything. I guess i need to look around for some groups that are more active and committed.

My groups post too much! I can't keep up with them.

1:13 - I hear ya! It took awhile, but I finally found a group and we all click and we all post and have been for quite a while. Don't give up. Keep trying out groups - hopefully you'll find one.
