EMAIL THREAD
Thought for the day..
I started a thread this morning on other sites for weight loss, that got deleted within 15 minutes. Thank you to the two people who responded before it was cut. Then i posted another one that thanked peertrainer for being classy for deleting my freedom of speech. imagine that, they deleted that one, too.
hmmm......no wonder more and more people are leaving this site.

Actually, I'm a leader in this community and I've been here since the beginning. I flagged this as spam. PT responded to my request so pick the bone with me.

oh, and another thing, my groups are active. Maybe you should join more active groups and not blame a weight loss site for your frustrations. Just another thought for the day for you. I have lost a lot of weight with pt as has many other people here and I'm protective of a place that's basically saved my life.
Friday, December 7, 2007, 11:08 AM
i will do that! DId you read my original post?
Friday, December 7, 2007, 11:08 AM
I clicked on this expecting to read something inspirational, but I'm always in for a good catfight. I've been here since the summer of last year and I'm also a member of other communities. Things generally get slow right before christmas and after thanksgiving and people don't want to deal with monitoring their weight. It's counterintuitive, but that's my take on things.
Friday, December 7, 2007, 11:10 AM
you may want to join another site on anger management and getting that blood pressure down. just because you claim this site saved your life doesn't mean you have rights to discredit other people.
Friday, December 7, 2007, 11:10 AM
It's people like you who try to make things bad for everyone else. I'd welcome you to my group, so that you can have support but I don't think that will be happening. At least you got the attention you obviously wanted.
Friday, December 7, 2007, 11:11 AM
I would hope that PT would want their users to better their health, even if that means visiting other sites. It was unfair of them to delete the post.
Friday, December 7, 2007, 11:12 AM
I've spoken with one of the founders before and I know they are passionate about better health. I think you're looking for a fight, and you found one with me. Glad I'm here today.
Friday, December 7, 2007, 11:14 AM
OP here.
Thank you 11:12 for your positive feedback. I do appreciate the support.
Laura: my original post before you deleted it stated I LIKE peertrainer, but am looking for alternatives. That doesn't mean I am giving up peer trainer, that doesn't mean my groups are inactive like you claim. I NEVER said my groups were inactive. I have three groups and one team and would never consider leaving them--we support each other. But there are some things PT doesn't provide for me like graphs to track weight loss without having to create them in another website and download the picture.
I also stated it's been a little slow lately. What you failed to ask before you so rudely took it upon yourself to decide what I can and cannot talk about was why I thought it was slow. I have severe food allergies and I am trying to find an alternative site to help with those allergies to save my own life, but thank you for disregarding my life because your opinion is so much more important.

take a midol and calm down. If you're so passionate about weight loss and saving lives, why did you delete a post that would help others lose weight and saving their life?
Friday, December 7, 2007, 11:19 AM
now i want to see the original post.
We paste links to receipes on other website. I would love to be able to track my weight and graph it.
Friday, December 7, 2007, 11:39 AM
Why don't you google? I'm sure things come up there or post here. I didn't see the original post but I'm doubting that it was as innocous as the OP claims it to be.
Friday, December 7, 2007, 11:42 AM
OP again
11:39: here's what my original post stated (or as close to it as I can remember)
Title: Other Weight Loss Websites
Content:
I like Peertrainer, but I am looking for alternative websites for weight loss. I've noticed PT slowing down a bit lately and wanted to check out other sites.
Thanks!
That's it! That's all it said and Laura took it upon herself to determine my needs were not suitable for her taste. I pity her for her quick judgement of others.
Friday, December 7, 2007, 11:49 AM
11:42, I have reposted the original post so you can see how innocent it truly was. I made it very clear in my post here i sent another one thanking them for being so classy as to delete my freedom of speach.
I did google it, but thought it best to ask other members their opinions since I know other members use other sites.
Sparkpeople was one suggestion, i signed up for that and am getting logged on now. INteresting site, but will continue with my groups with pt as well.
Friday, December 7, 2007, 11:52 AM
Op, that does seem harmless. I didn't know you could flag threads though. That's good to know.
I've tried sparkpeople and I think the tools are neat but I don't get a sense of comraderie like I do here. I love my pt friends and I even have to admit I haven't been as active lately. I'm here today because I know I'll be good today before the weekend! We should all be active right now and help each other though because now is my hardest time. I wonder what Jan 1 will be like....probably similar to all those people who try the gym for a week as their new years resolution! I also have tried weight watchers and I like it but I did cancel my membership recently.
Friday, December 7, 2007, 12:36 PM
OP again
12:36 thanks! I agree I know it will get better and more active once we all survive the holidays, but there are a few things that peertrainer doesn't provide that i would like to have. I didn't think I was asking for much. I adore my inspirational friends at PT and wouldn't leave them for the world. They are active groups and teams and we cheer each other on during tough days and inspire each other to be better people.
I, too, did WW for a while, but it wasn't for me. I am successful at my new plan and love it.
Good luck to you over the weekend. I know how tough that can be, it's my biggest problem. Plan ahead, remember your goals, and remember you're worth it. I make snack and meals on thursday to get me through the weekend without completely falling off the wagon.
Friday, December 7, 2007, 12:42 PM
WOW!
Friday, December 7, 2007, 3:52 PM
I LOVE pt - its the best. I have no desire to go anywhere else.. but perhaps they will see this and add a plce to graph weight...... please dont change anything though.. its SO user-freindly and perfect - but a few additions could't hurt. Thanks for all the work you do to run this great site. I have "met" so may wonderful people!!!!
