Ironman Scale
Is anyone familiar with this? My PT uses it..gives you a weight and lots of other readings..%of water, body fat, muscle, bone density, etc. He is competing in weight lifting and it's what he uses when he weighs in at competitions. I have lost weight according to the scale (and mine at home) but it also says I've lost muscle mass and bone density. I weigth train and do Pilates twice a week, cardio most days. My PT says the loss of muscle and bone density is the aging process (I'm 50). Anyone have experience with this scale?

I have one of these scales. Make sure you weigh yourself at the same time of day when you do use it. And there are also guidelines you should follow as far as waiting a certain amount of time after eating and making sure you're well hydrated. Any little change in your hydration can throw off the percentages. But I like mine. I find it very useful.

I have something similar with the exception of the bone density. You can lose muscle and some bone loss due to aging, but I would be surprised if you would lose all that much in a short period of time. What time frame are you refering to. You can also lose muscle due to overtraining or nutrition change. I would seek some advice at that angle before resigning yourself to the lose as aging.
