Losing Fat Around Belly

I've recently hit my sixth straight week of working out and eating semi-healthy. I'm noticing that my belly seems flatter than before. This is the area that I carry most of my wieght.... but the weight on the scale hasn't really moved.

I've been doing weight training about two to three times a week so I know that could cause the scale not to move... but if I'm losing fat around my stomach shouldn't that be reflected on the scale ? Basically will an overall gain in muscle mass result in the scale reading the same even if there's a significant loss of fat around my belly ?

You betcha, of course muscle weighs more than fat and that could definately be the reason. Have you tried measuring so that you can see physical results?

yes I should have done that. I'm just trying to figure out if my eyes are playing tricks on me or not. I THINK I look better but when the scale doesn't confirm it I start to question if its true or not.

Measuring would take of this
