Vitamins
Is anyone taking vitamins or supplements? I'm not talking about weight loss pills. Is there any advantage to taking a vitamin specifically for women, or is a regular multivitamin fine? Does anyone have any recommendations? I'm a 23 year old female trying to lose 80 lbs. Thanks for your help everyone!

I'm a firm believer in vitamins because it's very hard to get all the vitamins and minerals you need from food. Even if you are very diligent, the amount of vitamins in a food can vary widely based on when it was picked, how long it's been on the shelf, growing conditions, etc...
I would recommend a natural vitamin versus a synthetic (Centrum, One a Day) vitamin. For certain vitamins it makes no difference if it's natural or synthetic. But for others, (Vitamin E for example), your body is more readily able to absorb the vitamin in it's natural form. So, if you are going to spend the $ and make the effort to take it everyday you might as well get the most bang for your buck.
Natural vitamins are a little more expensive but still very affordable. You can buy them at The Vitamin Shoppe which is my personal fav for buying vitamins. A woman's formula is good because it should contain iron and extra levels of calcium. Just be sure to read the label or ask at the store. Some "woman" varieties are for older woman to help with menopause, etc... and obviously you don't need those. HTH.
