Sweet Revenge (OT)

Maybe I'm evil...

I broke up with the much loved bf last night because he keeps alienating me and pushing me away anytime he gets stressed. This month, his roomie ran away leaving him with the full balance of all the bills- which he doesn't have the money for. And he's on the verge of losing his job. (Terrible time to leave him, I know, but we're not married, and I can't put up with this anymore...)

So I'm pissed off, and even though he's struggling, I wanted to do something to piss him off. So, I paid the balance of Mr. "I don't want anybody's help" phone bill so his phone could be reactivated... He'll likely figure out it's me, but it's not like the phone company is going to refund the money :) I feel like the cat that swallowed the canary.

If you are a woman, this makes a whole hell of a lot of sense. Think about it... why should the OP be constantly kicked in the teeth for providing emotional support to this too-proud individual? She gave him support whether he wanted it or not, deserving of it or not. Underhanded? Yes. And brilliant... as long as it didn't break HER bank.

1:18 hit it bang on the head. And thank you, I was proud of myself for thinking of it.

It doesn't break my bank, but it makes it a little tighter. But, I'd budgeted almost that amount for his xmas present, so it's not a big deal.

He's gonna be pissed off because like it or not, now he doesn't get to dig himself out of the hole on his own. He's been helped without permission, and he's going to enjoy the phone, but be pissed off that someone else helped him.

Ha! I know plenty of guys like that (including my own father). Nice one OP! :-) That little blow to his hyper-masculine ego stings worse than anything else you could have done.
