Question: Does any one know of a good brand for fake “sausage”
I have tried: Morning Star “sausage” patties 1-patty (2 points) and let me tell you “yummy”. At the time I thought 2 points was a bit much for one small patty so I also tried Yves meatless breakfast patties 2-patties (1 point). I really thought that brand tasted bland. I couldn’t even finish the package before it expired.
I might go back to Morning Star but am willing to try something new . . . if the points/ calories are lower.

The Morningstar ones are the only ones I've tried that were good. I like cutting one up and stirfrying it with a bunch of quartered mushrooms.

Hate to break it to you but the Morningstar Farms patties are BY FAR the best. Nothing else even comes close.

Not FAKE, but not exactly sausage...
I love the Hillshire Farms turkey sausage links. They come in large bun size (for 'fake' polish sausages on the grill) and mini links that are good for breakfast.
A bit salty, but very very tasty.

Original poster: Thanks for the input. I hadn’t thought of the idea of making them stretch w/ mushrooms.

Morning Star again. Thye also ahve great crumbles that you can use for all sorts of things and the facon (fake bacon) is great also.

oh yeah?
Sausage is a relative term, you guys. Tell ya what... the Latin-Hispanic-Southwest inspired sausage called chorizo is extremely awesome... and not at all good for you. Anyone ever try soyrizo? That, my friends, is great stuff, by far the best food find I have ever had. I posted info about it in our wiki.
Here's a recipe for you.

GimmeLean Vegan Sausage is pretty amazing. My carnivore fiance even likes it. I add just a bit of potassium salt and pepper. It even has a great texture. It's the type you slice and shape, so for two 1/2-inch thick patties, it's roughly 50 calories.
And if you don't mind whey, I really used to enjoy the Boca "sausage" links. I no longer eat whey, but they were really good.

vegetarian breakfast sausage patties
If you live near enough, go straight to a Trader Joe's and get their house brand of vegetarian breakfast sausage patties. I believe they're less fat than the Morning Star brand and they're even tastier than M.S. in my opinion.

OP here . . .. Just to finish off the post I do live near and LOVE Trader Joes.
So I tried their Veggie sausage= 1 point. It’s lower in points than morning star= 2 points primarily because of a higher fiber content.
Taste wise I still prefer morning star(just my preference) the TJ brand had a herby flavor that in my opinion was a bit bold. Think I will keep both brands in my freezer and vary according to what I feel like and where I want to allot my points.
Thanks EVERYONE for your input

I so wish I had seen this link before supper....I just had REGULAR sausage and THEN looked at the calorie count. I feel sick.

I second the Gimme Lean recommendation- by far the best veggie sausage out there...
