I tried doing something similar for phase one of the fat smash diet. I was absolutely miserable, cranky, and my migraines (I get them chronically) flared up really badly.

Oh, and even though everyone else lost about 10-15 lbs in one week of that, I lost 2. Wasn't worth it for me.

If you think you can handle it, good luck and I wsih you all the best :] Just be careful, and I'd support doing it slowly. Cutting out sugar the first five days, then meat, then everything but fruit.

Good luck!

make it a gradual long term thing, you'll get much more benefit. Eating more fruits and veggies will help with tons of things and the best way to do it is a little bit more every week and month. You'll see how your body reacts and you'll want more of the way you feel.

OP - I know that Dr. Oz says they can be great for resetting our palate (i.e., helping us kick sugary, processed food habits and enjoy the taste of whole foods.) And how much weight you lose is still probably related to your overall calorie intake, your hydration, etc. I do know that after only a few days of eating a fruit and veggie intensive diet I definitely feel lighter!

I have to think anyone losing 10-15 pounds is either very overweight and/or losing a lot of water weight.

I saw a little bit of this pbs show where they put a bunch of people in the middle of nowhere and gave them each a big basket of fruit, veggies, and nuts (11 lbs. of food each day) to eat for (I think it was) 10 days? They all lost a bunch of weight. I can't remember, maybe 20 lbs. a piece? Has anyone else seen this program? I wish I got to really watch it, it looked so interesting!

I've been wanting to do a fast, myself, but am nervous about being really cranky.

I also include rice and tofu with the vegetables and fruit. I do this for about a week, then slowly include my "normal" foods (I'm vegetarian). Depending on how I was eating before, I can lose close to 5 pounds, but I generally gain that all back. I'm hoping that this time, though, I can excerise regularly, and much of this weight will stay off!

Thumbs up and sounds weird but I would do it forever. It's not just a detox thing but a way of life.
