How to Set Realistic Exercise Goals

I am in this cycle where I get really into exercising, do a ton of it and then stop because I get so tired or bored or whatever. I am totally aware of what I am doing, yet I keep doing this year after year. I'd love to know some tricks for sustaining something long term.

make small goals..

such as I am going to exercise 30 minutes each day thats attainable ..

make that exercise something you enjoy so it doesnt feel like exercise

try new things.. mix it up.. try taking a class of something you have wanted to try but have not taken the chance and done.

like maybe salsa dancing or a kick boxing class.. whatever interests you.

but remember what you do is long term.. this is a forever journey we cant exercise untill we lose the wieght . we have to keep going to maintain that weight loss.

if your still trying to lose weight. one thing I did was set small weight loss goals.. I would work on five pounds at a time. after that five pounds than it would be another 5 pounds.

also reward your efforts with something non food related. you work your arse off you should have something to show for it. maybe a piece of jewelry you have been eyeing or if your a man maybe a game you would like or a nice watch..

celebrate each loss no matter how big or how small..

each loss gets you closer to your goal weight..

if your maintaining. I have to say having lost alot of weight and maintained that weight loss for six years its just as hard as losing the weight to begin with so you have to be patient and consistant in what your doing.

but whatever the case. keep believing in yourself and know you are worth it,
