Who else binges?
I binge at least once a month. I want to know if other people fall into this problem behavior? I binge and then feel bad after and then put all this pressure on myself to get to the gym and try to really cut way back on food intake the next day. I've lost 10-12 pounds since joining peertrainer. However, I have another 10-15 to go. I'm having a difficult with the monthly binges.

I don't know if I would call it a binge or not.
I give myself one day a month to eat whatever I want. I do eat in excess but not near what I would have in the past. I just can't fit that much into my stomach anymore.
I don't feel as though I am out of control and I think in my mind that is what I would call a binge.
I used to feel very guilty about it. But I don't anymore. It helps to keep me on track. The rest of the time I am very strict with my diet.

I've been dealing with binge eating off and on for years. At one point, I would go into a frenzy and go to McDonalds and order enough for 3-4 people and eat every last bite of it at my house in secret or I would buy a 6 or 12 pack of snicker candy bars and then eat one after another and I didn't purge afterwards either. The next day because of the binge I would perform several hours of exercise, it was a terrible cycle to be in. It was my way of dealing with the stress of being a single parent, low self esteem about myself, holding down 3 jobs, and attending college and feeling very alone in this world. I don't binge as I use to but once in a great while I still do. The last binge I had was two years ago. The way I keep from the binges is I had to learn to be in tune with myself and I did this by beginning a journel on when it occurs, why and what was going on,once I did this and I felt the triggers going on in my head I would tell someone what I was about to do, sometimes even to strangers and its amazing that I actually had more support from complete strangers than my family. I think for me it just helped to speak to someone and when you tell someone you are planning to go to McDonalds and buy enough food for 3-4 people and then bring it home and eat every single bite it doesn't seem so appealing anymore and when you tell someone they almost always ask why do you want to do that to yourself, and that would make me think of why and it would make the feeling subside. It's been a long road for me. Thanks for bringing up this post because its not something you tell people in a general conversation about yourself.
