My husband does not listen to me. Advice, please!

Case in point. He asks me to do something this morning so I said of course I will. I asked for one little thing, to please let me do it my way. Instead of saying, sure, no problem, he gets angry and snippy and says, yes, let's protect your precious little ego". WTF? Why do I get insulted when I ask for what I need? Makes me want to scream.

He sounds upset about more than just you wanting to do a task your way. It makes me sad, because I go through the same with my fiance. We are learning better communication because if this senerio was playing out in my home (and the like has) at this point I wouldn't be answering my phone and he would be mad because I would have dug my heels in and not did anything remote to what he asked.

When we acted that way we now realize that we had other problems than him wanting me to take out the kitty litter, then getting mad when I wanted to do it after I made dinner and before taking a shower. I hope you take the time to sit down and talk to him. get down to what REALLY is bothering him.

Here's the question...why can't you do what he asks you to do in the way that he asks you to do it? Unless he is demanding that you do it in a way that will be more work, more money, etc. why not just try to make him happy and do it his way? Sounds to me like there is a tremdous power stuggle going on in your house and it is tearing your marriage apart - not to mention creating serious resentment in both of you. Marriage is about give and take. If you don't start giving first, he will not ever give you what you want...and that is what you want, right? Most men will give back what is given to them. It has to start somewhere...let it start with you for your marriages' sake.
