A Better Body in 64 Payments
Just got through reading this article on The New York Times' website and thought you all might enjoy it. It's a hilarious account of how infomercials work and how losing weight and getting in shape doesn't come nicely package in a 3 time a week workout; it's about a program that includes workouts and eating well (but we knew that).
I think it'll strike a cord for most of us. i laughed outloud (and considering i've a huge deadline to meet tomorrow, that i'm laughing at all should not be scoffed at).
hope it brightens your day too.
best, Carrie

I thought it was funny too, but it's also a critique on how we fall for ads and their claims, i.e: "If you're stressed, eat ice cream." And movies do that all the time too. I mean, a woman being dumped and eating ice cream out of the carton is practically cliche now!

totally
OP here and I just wanted to say that I totally agree with the last comment -- we have to look no further than the twix commerical (also a post in the community section today) to know what the last poster was talking about. That being said, I think the article did a wonderful job of making it clear that we should not fall for the claims of a quick fix, nor should we turn to ice cream in times of crisis (in the end, he turns to the flex machine; the healthier choice).
