Addicted to the SNOOZE button...
Help. Does anyone else have this problem? Does anyone have any suggestions for breaking this bad habit. I'd really like to get up & workout in the morning, but I snooze without even realizing it & before I know it, its time to get up for work! Not to mention the fact that my boyfriend is ready to kill me! :)

Are you psyched about what you're doing for the day? I find I get into the snooze button when I don't like my job or what's going on in my life...

Put your alarm clock across the room, then you'll have to get up to turn it off. And get one of those annoying alarm clocks that gets louder and louder, so you can't ignore it.
Or enlist your boyfriend's help in kicking you out of bed.
If you manage to stop snoozing and get up and exercise, well then you're much stronger than I am!!

I always put my alarm clock across the room. And, are you getting enough sleep?? try going to bed earlier!!

Start Tralking!
My husband is the same way- he hits the snooze at least 3 times and the first 2 , hes still sleeping! Its truly annoying when i finally get to sleep in but wake up on the first alarm and cant go back to sleep!
So, i have started talking to him- super annoying right? Still groggy but having ti engage your brain to form thoughts and words/? BUT, gauranteed to wake you up- or even better- have a friend call and give you a wake up call for about a week! After a week, your body adjusts and you will find that you wake up before your friend calls ;)
Good Luck!

I also have to put the clock far enough away that I have to get out of bed, in addition to putting it on the beeping alarm (I could sleep through the radio) and putting it at a decent volume. Sometimes, I put my favorite pair of running socks or a little sign on the alarm clock so that I see them when I get up... or if I'm really groggy, the different surface might surprise me enough to get me awake enough to see my motivation!...
I also wholeheartedly agree with the comment about getting enough sleep. Even half an hour can make a total difference for me.
Good luck!

time for a new job
I know this happens to me when its time to move on or i'm not looking forward to the day ahead. Definitely look into what's going on in your life, and make sure you are getting enough sleep.
Good luck!!!

oh yeah, totally do that sometimes too!! what helps: go to bed dressed in your workout clothes . .( it seems ridiculous at first but it makes a huge difference in the morning!)everything but your sneakers. Leave your sneakers by the bed, along w/ keys, a packed bag, whatever you may need for your workout and/or the rest of your morning (i.e shower supplies, work clothes, grocery list . . whatever!). I am a coffee drinker and sometimes i will set the coffee maker the night before, and the smell of coffee gets me out of bed too-just a little cup while i lace up the sneakers wakes me. Going to bed dressed in workout clothes will help, but it won't stop the persuasive talk you will give yourself in the morning "10 more minutes of sleep" . . go to bed a little earlier, and remind yourself upon waking that even if you hit snooze a couple of times, and you only have 15 or 20 minutes to work out . . .you can still burn an easy 100 or 150 calories in that time if you hop out of bed and go for a brisk walk. anything is better than nothing when it comes to exercise . . . good luck!

I just find that if I need to get out of bed i tell myself is another 10 minutes REALLY going to do anything. You can only do what is comfortable to you. You need to get motivated you need to figure out whats more important another 20 minutes of sleep...or your health?

I do the same thing...hitting the snooze button. Sometimes I must sleep through some because I'll finally look at the clock that I whack and it will be a lot later than I remembered the number of snoozes that I did. To allow me enough time to exercise, I just set the clock a 1/2 h earlier. Then I get to "cheat" and sleep in, but I have plenty of time to still fit in some exercise. I like the idea of wearing the exercise duds to bed....hmmm maybe an extra snooze! Won't help the bf, but it might help w the exercise...

Thank you.
Thanks for all your great suggestions everyone! Job is definitely an issue, but I should still be able to get myself out of bed! :) I'm going to try moving the alarm clock across the room & sleeping in workout clothes! Both great ideas! Hopefully they do the trick! :)

Zzzzzzz....
I had the same issue as you and it was just this week that I confronted it.
After 1.5 years at my job, I was finally taken into the boss's office and given official warning not to be late any more. Nothing quite like fear for your job to make you change your habits!
In the past, I would set three different alarm clocks and place them around the room. Even though I'd have to get out of bed and fumble around for the clocks three times, I'd still fall asleep again and be late every morning.
Now, I set just two alarms 30 minutes earlier than I used to set them. I open the curtains right up when the first one rings. Then I can lie awake in the sunlight for a little while, doing some stretching to help me wake up. I just chill out until the other alarm rings. Then it's time to move. The fact that I'm not in an almighty rush to get out the door and have plenty of time makes waking up more bearable.
This may sound too simplistic but just forcing yourself to get up earlier a few days in a row will help set a pattern. I thought I could never do it but after only four days of what I described, I'm getting to work early every morning and I feel good. Good luck!

I used to have the same problem, try hooking up with a friend to commit to the same regimen, if possible meet somewhere, then you'll be accountable for getting up and getting there and getting it done. goodluck

Maybe not a morning person?
I have the same problem you do. I set my alarm for 5:30am and snooze until almost 7am. I've just come to the conclusion that I like my mornings for myself and I'm finding time somewhere else in the day for my workout.
But when I get up cranky, not even a good dose of endorphins get me happy. I'm still concentrating on all the good sleep I lost that morning.
