Pelvic pain while running

I'm hoping someone will be able to help me with this problem. I developed a pelvic pain while running (I was also pregnant); it felt as if I had been hit hard there, at one point walking was too much for me. I stopped running during my pregnancy and expected it to have gone away after having my son but it is still there. I've gone to a chiropractor but it hasn't seemed to help. From what I can tell it is the impact of running that does it. I also had it one time during sex. Has anyone else had this problem? I can not feel it unless I'm doing one of these two things.

Have you seen your doctor? Perhaps he/she can order some diagnostic testing...perhaps an x-ray or ct scan on your pelvis. Either way, I think it's really important to see a doctor and not just to leave it.

I did go to my OB but she really didn't help. My chiropractor thinks I'm out of alignment but nothing she has done helped either.

Re: pelvic pain

Have you found anything more out? I have the same problem- it started with my 1st pregnancy almost 4 years ago, but more recently with my baby who is almost 1. My dad (he's an OBGYN) told me it's probably pelvic bursitis- apparently the pubic bone is a joint that is spread during pregnancy, and the bursae can fill with fluid from activity and that is what causes the pain. I was hoping it would go away, but I started training for a marathon and it has flared up again. Ibuprofen helps, but is there anything more permanent or helpful that can be done? I don't want to stop running, but I think the only thing i have heard is not to run...
