Let's talk about PMS

What are your symptoms, when do they start, and how on earth do you deal?

Here are mine:
I get a few pimples, a start losing control of my diet and crave salt salt salt or sugar sugar sugar, I get bloated, EXTREMELY IRRITABLE, and I feel blah. Most of these start 1-.5 weeks before the big visit!

How I deal: I don't mostly, I just let it pass, but I'm trying to be more proactive and help ease the total discomfort......looking forward to hearing others' gripes and solutions!

no matter your age, you need to talk to your doc about YAZ. If not, find the nearest pharmacy and get some black kohesh.

2:46 poster here

black cohosh (frickin spelling police are back!) is plant extract used to regulate hormones. my girlfriend used it for years, even through menopause and never experienced hot flashes.

also, St. John's Wart, another natural product is great for keeping the mood steady.

YAZ isn't that expensive, it is birth control, but i have never felt better since i've been on it. i work for an RE and he has said there are no long term side effects for being on birth control for numerous years.

Careful with St. John's Wort, it can conflict with birth control pills from what I've read.

Every 6 months or so I get an extra long cycle, about 45-50 days, and my PMS will be horrendous, especially the mood swings, I can't go anywhere or do anything because I am either in a rage or crying, last time my husband nearly took me to hospital beacuse he thought I was going to harm myself. Also I get cravings and my boobs swell about a cup size. Most doctors i have seen do not take PMS seriously......

osteopaths have great supplements for PMS. Don't let it control your life...get ahold of those flipping hormones safely.

does black cohosh also interfere with birth control?

Sometimes if you look long enough you can find a primary care giver, Dr., nurse practitioner, midwife, osteopath etc that will work with you using the natural PMS fighters. Another one is evening primrose oil.
One of my most persistant symptoms is that I get to where I don't want to be around people. Not even people I like. I don't even want to go to church. I just go anyway.
Good luck and know that there are things out there that can help ease symptoms.
