One suggestion- go for a sprint triathlon first...

Start swimming
I think the swimming is the toughest part to get ready for. Even though I was a swimmer in high school, I found it took me a long time to get up to the 1/2 mile I had to do for my first triathlon.
But I have to admit that crossing that finish line in under my goal time was soooo cool. I've never been so proud of myself.
Go for it.

Just " DO IT" I think you can do anything you want to, with some good training and alot of patience and perseverance.

YES, you can complete a triathlon and yes, try a sprint triathlon. I completed my first Danskin triathlon last August while weighing more than 200 lbs. You can do it!

I'm not the OP but I've been inspired! I think I'll find out what sort of triathlons are in my area.

Absolutely! You should give a sprint triathlon a go. Even though I weighed over 200 pounds, I finished my first Danskin triathlon in August. Trust me, you're capable!
