How often do you weigh-in and do you use the trendline?

I wanted to know how often you weigh-in and how you track your progress. I've started using the trendline in excel to show my overall loss, and alongwith daily weigh-ins and that seems to help me feel less worried about the day to day fluctuations. What works for you?

I weigh weekly and count it as "official" but a couple times a week I also weigh in after dinner to see what the scale says. Overall I've found that it helps keep me in check, and I can always remind myself that my weight at night is a couple lbs. up from eating, so I don't freak out about it, like I might if I weighed in every day in the morning. I've only lost 9.5lbs. so far, so I'm not sure if that's significant enough to use a chart...but what's a trendline?

Good idea with the trendline. I'm going to do that.

The trendline is a fuction in excel on a graph where it shows you the direction you are moving. I don't understand it well, but I think it takes the average of your loss and then projects it forward. I find it really motivating to see what I'll weigh if I continue on the same path for the next month or so! Here is a page that shows you what it looks like and how to set one up.

Or, more basically,
"The basic formula is today's trend=yesterday's trend + (today's weight-yesterday's trend)/10." Just break that down in a spreadsheet.
I track my trend weight, too. It isn't as much fun on a downward trend because it doesn't seem like you are losing weight as quickly, but it sure is comforting over a period of a few days when you are on an upward trend. It helps me not freak out too much.
