foods or beverages to clear stuffed sinuses?

I'm wondering if you have any suggestions that might help, thank you.

Spicy foods will clear out your sinuses!

Alternately, really hot tea, hold your head over the steam and breathe it in.

Apples seem to lessen the severity of sinus infections

My son's ENT told him to eat an apple when he felt a sinus problem beginning. This has worked for him.

Wasabi
Jalapenos
Pho (vietmese soup - always served really, really hot so it's likely the steam)

I make a white chili that contains cumin, ceyenne and jalapenos, and boy with some extra jalapenos that does the trick real quick!

Alternately I'll have sushi and pile on the wasabi and order lots of hot tea.

Pho is my all-time fave though for a stuffed head. Better than mom's chicken soup.

Never head of apples though - I'll try it next time.

There are many new brands out there that have foods free of common allergens- for example, many of Applegate Farms products are casein free, gluten free, nitrite free, antibiotic free. When you have allergies, it helps.

Whenever I'm stuffed up I always have some hot and sour soup. Does the trick every time.

Stop eating dairy for 30 days. It's unbelievable what that will do to clear your sinuses.

This was my question but a member from one of my groups posted it here for me because I didn't think of it. It has been suggested to me that because it's ragweed season, I may be allergic to ragweed. I don't know for sure. No insurance so I can't afford to go to the doctor for something this minor.

Thanks everyone for all the great ideas. I'm trying some and they seem to work for a short period of time (several hours). I'll keep trying to see what might do the trick.

i've read in several places that dairy products actually don't contribute to any mucus production and that it's just a myth that one should stop with dairy whie suffering from clogged sinuses.

i'm surprised no one has yet mentioned menthol or mint-infused products. they always work for me!! (peppermine Altoids, never fail!)

Well - it's not a food, but many of my friends have horrible allergies and they all swear by a neti pot. I don't know if I could bring myself to use one, but they say it is by far the best thing for clearing sinuses.
