Getting back on the bandwagon

I was doing well using peertrainer for 2 weeks, and lost 4 pounds without too much effort (almost exclusively diet, very little extra exercise). But then I switched jobs, and my new good habits went to hell (especially because I no longer am lucky enough to be able to go home for lunch, and cook my standard egg white omelette). So I gained back those 4 pounds, and then ANOTHER 4 pounds, on top of that. Sheesh!
I'm hoping to hear some stories or advice about getting back on. I'm feeling pretty low -- it's not that I lack determination, I just no longer see this as a semi-fun challenge, but rather as something that is going to make my life kind of suck for a while. I need a little guidance from those of you who have started up again after giving up for a while -- and found success!

I think the question is, why did you want to lose weight in the first place? If your reason is the "semi-fun challenge", then you won't have any success. You need to always keep in your mind why you are doing this. Are you losing weight to be healthy? To live longer and be with your kids? Once you start seeing results, you will have the motivation to continue your journey. Losing weight is not easy, but the benefits are definitely worth it.

Personally, I lost 30 pounds on WW, then gained that back plus a whole lot more due to a job change and not being able to afford WW anymore. Now I'm doing it on my own counting calories and exercising, and I have lost a total of 69 pounds so far. That weight was not put on overnight, and did not come off overnight. It is a long journey, but again, well worth it!

Good Luck!

I have never been successful at weight loss long term anyway. I have lost huge amounts of weight just can't seem to keep it off.
I am doing really good now but I am no where near my goal so time will tell. All I can say is for me the key was the right motivation and finding food that I like and can live with for the rest of my life. I feel I have done that. I have never enjoyed healthy food before. I make the most amazing meals if I do say so myself. I am so thankful for the products out there today that 10 years ago we had never heard of.
Good luck to you

just like when the horse bucks you off, you get back on. This is the time for you to regroup, check out your reasons why you are doing this, and redetermine your goals. Maybe you set shorter term, smaller goals this time, so you have opportunities for success sooner. Try setting a week by week goal, and some ideas in your journal about how to get there. It does get a little monotonous, so you need to find within your self why its important.

Here's a link with some good questions to ask your self. Blessings.
