Down and having a hard time thinking of my health
I am on PT to keep my health up during hard times. My sister who I am very close to has been diagnosed as a terminal illness, which has been a huge blow to me.
I found this out recently, when I started a new job, and I think it has affected my work performance.
What keeps you up and being healthy when you are down, or going through something terrible?
What keeps your head above water?

I am so sorry, I can not imagine the stress that you must be under with the bad news about your sister and starting a new job.
If you can just force yourself to get some sort of activity in, whether it be a walk, run, bike ride, or anything, you will feel better when you are done.
Excercise is a great way to relive stress and the more you do it, the more you will want to do it. It is just getting started initially that is so hard. Get some good excercise and feel those endorphins kick in!

shortly after her wedding, my 28 year old cousin was diagnosed with terminal breast cancer (stage 4). she was devestated, of course, but also wanted to spend her "remaining" days living, not thinking about dying. she and i were discussing her situation one evening and happened upon a grand thought for such occassions. life itself is a terminal illness. none of us know when the end will come. even after being diagnosed with terminal breast cancer, she may be hit by a bus before the cancer kills her. it sounds a bit morbid to think about "just because", but when trying to come to terms with what others have referred to as "imminent" death, it's actually a comforting realization. hope it helps someone else, too. by the way, my cousin is doing great, 4 years later now.

The number one thing is exercise. Find something you like and do it every day.
I know it can be tough when you are down to get of the couch, but in my experience it works. B vitamin stress formula will also help.

I am sorry about your news. I can only imagine. Though I lost my dad to cancer and we were close. different people hold different places in our hearts.
I wish the best for you and your sister.
Excersize is excellent if you can do it.
My thinking, I agree with, find something you love to do, even get lost in and do it as often as possible.
I live under completley different circumstances but serious health issues and I try to spend time every day doing something I love. Card making and scrapbooking. And then in every way possible think possitive. As you said you never know when it is your time. Make the most of every moment.

You might consider training for a fundraising event in support of research/cures/etc. for your sister's illness. Year round training would keep you fit and active, and there are LOTS and LOTS of these types of charity events out there.
