Just and FYI . . . (OT and b*tchy!)

The word is "probably" not "prolly". I know "prolly" is popular in IM circles and on the internet in general, but really how difficult is it to type in 2 letters more and correct it?

I'm not usually one to bother commenting on typo's but I see (and hear!) this one time and time again (not just on this website). Do people really not know that the word is "proBABLY"? Or are people just so lazy that it's too much effort to speak correctly?

FYI, check your OWN subject line before complaining about others' grammatical choices.

I think of it as ootsy-cutesy rather than lazy, but I'm with the OP - don't like it.

Hahaha! you get after people for their typing/word choices and you made a mistake yourself. I am laughing myself silly.

There's a difference between typos and deliberate misspelling.

i have a master's degree in journalism and i use prolly and gonna all the time when i post comments and IM. writing in all lowercase prolly drives ya'll nutz too doesn't it?

However, when I have to be professional for work, I do spell correctly, use proper grammar and punctuation. That is where it counts, not here.

Why is it that when people are on the computer, they immediately throw out the spelling and grammer rules? Is your time that restricted that you can't manage to capatalize things on the internet? I'm sick of it, personally.

I agree with the journalist - I'm an English teacher and I always use the abbreviations and such with im ... makes it faster to get your point across -I type very slowly and often inaccurately so for me, its better to keep it fast and simple... when it counts, I do it right
