How much did you gain or lose over the holidays?

I am just curious how my fellow peertrainers did over the holidays. I gained 2 lbs, but that is better than in years past.

This thread also might be interesting to see, as our own form of a survey to go along with the thread "Holiday Weight Gain"

Can we clarify?

In what range of time? Do you mean all the way back through Thanksgiving or just this last week? And are we counting New Year's too?

Oy vey! It's worse than I thought. I knew my pants weren't fitting as well but I've been avoiding the scale. I've gained 5 lbs in the past 6 weeks. Oh well, can't hide from that...

I stayed the same weight, which is better than gaining:)
Im happy i didnt gain and am ok with not losing. Im (oddly) a bit renewed at this, since i feel ike i didnt really work hard to curb my cravings (if at all sometimes...lol) . How great and fansastic can i look if i really try??? Hmmm, its time to find out !

weight gain?

I was essentially a hermit over the holidays but was strong through 3 parties and avoided the treats in the office by just not eating any. If I had started with one i couldn't stop. I know my habits. So Since Thanksgiving I have continued to lose 1 pound a week.

Since mid november I've lost about 8 pounds. Christmas did slow it down a little I think, but it kept going in the right direction.

From Thanksgiving morning until today: -5 pounds. No New Year's plans to mess that up, either.

At one point I was -8, but I went abroad for a week and am currently recovering lost ground. Should have picked Asia or the Mediterranean...I never gain weight when I go there.

I gained 2 lbs since mid December, that was the start of the holiday parties. It was downhill from there.

I joined PeerTrainer in mid-November and have lost 6+ pounds since then.

As my primary goal was simply to not let my diet and exercise program get completely away from me through the holiday period, I have greatly exceeded my expectations.

9.5 pounds in 2 weeks, what are you taking?

Come on, don't be catty. And do your math. If the person who posted above is even moderately heavy, it's entirely possible and healthy to lose 9.5 lbs in just under THREE weeks. Congratulations to you.

As for me, I've fluctuated a little but ultimately ended up half a pound down since the week before Thanksgiving.

I've also fluctuated a bit, but today am about the same as before the holidays. I'm looking forward to focusing on getting back on track and losing weight next month.

9.5'er here

Well I started at 193.5, and went down to 184. I'm 5'61/2" and want to get down to 135-140. I eliminated white starches out of most of my diet and eat 1200 calories a day. I can have white starches on Saturdays and holidays are "freebies." I've also been very active in addition to working out at least 3x/week.
No worries, I'm not offended. I take it as a compliment that you were wowed!

Luckily, I didn't gain or lose weight. Glad to know that because I've eaten a lot of food over the holidays.

However, for the most part, I tried to eat the "good stuff" and even for my New Year's Eve party, I put out a giant platter of veggies and fruit (with a few cookes and crackers. Very little cheease... Made several home-made vegetarian dips: black bean and corn salsa, guacamole, tabbouli, hummous, with a few fattier ones (lite cream cheese/sour cream spread with shallots & dill), sourcream ranch dip.... and, we did have a chocolate fountain as well....

But, for the most part, my party foods were pretty healthy, and not as fatty as in years past.... ;-)

The one thing I do notice is that over the holidays, my hubby & I will indulge in a lot of veggies and fruits (via a veggie and fruit tray) over the holidays becaue it's out and easy to reach.... We tend to be a bit lazy through the rest of the year, but If I took a few minutes to cut up some veggies, on a normal day, I'm sure we'd eat lots more!!!

:-) Smiling because at most, I think I may have gained a pound or 2 but for the most part, I kept steady... :-)

I actually lost a pound but I think it was because I was so nervous around my boyfriends family that I just couldn't eat as much as I normally would! Here's to scary future in-laws LOL!!

No Gain, 1st time ever!

Maybe it's bacuse I gained ten pounds this fall when I relocated but for the first time in a long time, I didn't gain over the holidays. It even surprised me when I finally got on the scale this morning, having gone more than a week without a weigh in. Now I need to focus on getting off those relocation pounds.

Happy New Year to everyone!
