Weight Watchers points and fibre powder

OK. I'm asking this question because I'm pretty sure that this is too good to be true.

I follow WW, and want to cut the number of Points I consume.

As any WW user will know, the more fibre in a food, the fewer points it is likely to have.

I have bought FibreSure, a tasteless, smooth textured fibre supplement.

I add it to pretty much anything I can: my smoothies, my Chai Tea... things that are easy to add it to.

In theory, I'd be cutting the number of point in these things (perhaps just one point, I know) by adding the fibre.

Yet I'm thinking that this is way too easy. And that the fibre in this product is ground so finely that perhaps it doesn't count as fibre for the purposes of WW.

Any opinions? Cut a point off that drink junst by adding two teaspoons of this stuff? Too good to be true?

Eager to hear what you think...

WW gives you a 10 calorie "bonus" per gram of fiber, to a maximum of 4g in a serving of whatever. However, the true number of calories cancelled out by a gram of fiber is 4, the number of calories in 1g of carbohydrates. Now, I'd give you a lecture about how you're "only cheating yourself", but since WW calorie guidelines are on the low side for healthy weight loss, I see nothing wrong with a loophole that, when all is said and done, might involve consuming an extra 40 calories a day. Just be careful not to constipate yourself - drink lots of regular ol' water with your fiber. And take time to build up your ability to handle more fiber, since jumping from 15g a day to 30g a day is likely to result in stomach cramps, bloating, gas, hard stools, etc.

you'd be much better off eating some high fiber, nurtrient dense foods. They will help you feel fuller and are very good for you. Here is a partial list of things that you can eat in almost any amount. Note how most of these are commonly found in chinese food.

Kale
Collard Greens
bok choy
spinach
cabbage
red pepper
romaine lettuce
broccoli
cauliflower
green peppers
carrots
