New to this!
Hi! I am new to this concept and I have some questions I hope you can help me with.
Exactly how does this work?
Do I have to weigh in daily, weekly, monthly. I don't have a scale. What I weigh is not an issue for me as much as how I feel in my clothes and when I try to walk/play with my kids. My concern is the size of clothes that I wear. Is that appropriate for this program?
Not sure what diet to use. Do I count calories, put them in my log? What is the appropriate calories to eat?
Please help! I really want this to work!

A good place to start is by reading the etiquette page. Asking questions in the community is also a good idea. Welcome aboard.

I would go to FIND/CREATE a group in the upper nav and search by most recent activity and narrow down a group from there. I highly encourage you to join a few groups. You can always leave if you like and then when one is quiet, you'll get motivation from another. many people here use many different diets, some detest the word diet and follow a healthier lifestyle. Just join or create a group and start writing down your goals and what you want. Also, you can always email groups@peertrainer.com and we'll help you find a group.

Your logs can be as specific as you want, though the more specific you are (quantities, calories, points, etc), the easier it is for others to give feedback and advice. You can measure your progress any way you want, too - just make sure you mention it in your Notes section so your group members can celebrate your successes. Everyone likes an active (at least once a day) logger, so write and comment a lot to maximize your experience on this site.
Below is a link to individual logs from people who've chosen to make their logs public. You can get some ideas from there.

The above poster gave the best advice! When I write in my notes section, members in my groups tend to respond. Very true.

Thanks! I signed up yesterday and started posting. I am excited about the possibilities this may bring! I am eager to get started. Changing a lifestyle is somewhat overwelming! I just need to stay focused and honest with myself! LOL!

Like the other poster said, join a bunch of groups for awhile, check in frequently and see what's happening, and leave the ones that don't appeal to you. Check in here in the lounge because those of us in here are pretty active about posting. Good luck and have fun!
