Feeling low :[
Senior year in high school, and there's sonmething that I know is going to come up :[
There's a girl who used to make fun of my weight, and my solace used to be the fact that she wasn't exactly "tiny" either. I'm not even that much heavier - a few 10lbs at most.
Ends up she went and lost like..30 lbs and now looks freakin' amazing. While I promised myself I'd lose some weight, and ended up staying about the same (lost 6-7), but got really sick and ended up not being able to lose more.
I know it shouldn't bother me, but I can't help but feel disappointed in myself. :\

Don't feel disappointed, feel motivated : )

Though minimizing your problems is not my intention, I would like to point out something that I really wish someone had pointed out to me when I was your age:
HIGH.SCHOOL.DRAMA.MEANS.ABSOLUTELY.NOTHING.
Who cares what this bitch has to say about you? Do you realize that there is a whole wide world outside of the microcosm you are currently living within? Try not to focus on that nonsense. It's {literally} nothing. Keep your energy focused on you, your health, and your happiness. Don't let some formerly fat bitch get in the way of being the best you that you can be.

Though I would say it slightly differently, I agree with the last poster. I understand that you are in the middle of a very important year in your life and it can feel devistating to be in your possition. But it really is true. Once you are out of high shcool everything that took place there is nonsense. Truly people for the most part look at you differently.
Try to focus on the possitive and not the fact that she did better or any of that. You just focus on making you better. You are worth putting the effort into yourself.
And if something is mentioned about her weight loss and compared to you just realize it is a shallow person who judges another by their looks.
Best of luck to you.

Just a thought but, focus on the positive things that you have done over the past few years...I'll bet there are many great accomplishments & challenges that you have already overcome.
Also, this can be super motivating, focus on how much weight you can lose & how many positive habits you can learn by graduation. You have nearly a full year to set some serious goals & accomplish them. Seek out some solid information on nutrition, physical activity & by the time high school ends & life begins you'll be feeling great!!!

Hey. Like the other posters said, high school means NOTHING! I was not popular at all in high school. I was very shy (well still am), awkward, few friends, gained some weight, etc. But I have just a little more than a year left of college and I feel like I'm a lot better than all those other ppl in my class. People snickered when they asked me where I'm going to college at (cuz I'm attending a state university), but hell I'm going to graduate with a working degree (plus I'm a lot more involved in extracurricular) versus their basket weaving degree and they'll have college debts and such. I noticed a lot of the popular kids that I went to high school are all getting drunk and looking like idiots in college. If I can just stay consistent with my eating and lose this 20 pounds, then I'm going to look forward to my 5 year HS reunion with my new bod and job haha. Sorry, I needed to rant...apparently I'm still bitter about high school. Anyway, well look on the bright side, you have lost 6-7 pounds already. I mean I'm assuming she lost those 30 pounds just this summer so she must have lost it improperly and may even gain it back. Plus, you have a long time to get in shape for prom! Good luck.

The above poster remoinded me Of a friend who was talking at a party. Her son ran with a cool bunch in High School. There was one friend who was the least popular going with the most popular in the crowd he wanted to room with the popular kid, The popular kid wouldn't let him and said He didn't want him following him around. When they got there the unpopular kid became popular and the popular kid wanted to hang out with him. Life is funny. I could think of another case that involed grammar school. It was a small school that went up to 8th grade. We let my son go into the public school because he hated it so much. He became quiet popular. One of his tormentors jioned him in 9th grade. My son could have been mean to the kid but he was kind. Being popular isn't that iimportant any way. I love that HS reunion movie Romoomie and Michele or something like that. It was very true How the most uunpopular often become quiet sucsessful!
