I cheated

OMG, i just had a peice of Marble pound cake. i've been on FSD for 2 days and was doing good, but the cake was in conference room outside my office, and it was calling me...i didnt have a large piece, just enough to fit into my mouth, but now i feel HORRIBLE. I'm such a lame.

i don't want to coddle you, but tomorrow IS a new day. and you also have the rest of today to stick to your fat smash guns. don't fall into the "well i screwed up" trap and let go for the rest of today. it's true a few bites won't kill you, but use this awful feeling you have as motivation not to do it again. next time it's calling you, think of how terrible and guilty you feel. is it worth it?

Their right about tomorrow is a new day. Just start fresh again stick to it. If you dont like the way you look? Put a picture of yourself on the fridge and your cupboards. If that dont work take a nude picture of yourself. You'll find you have the will power then. Hope it helps :)

Try taking the word "cheated" out of your vocabulary and instead say I made a CHOICE. It all boils down to a choice that gets you result- a positive or a negative. You made a choice to have a piece of cake. Now make your next choice to NOT beat yourself up for it.

maybe if you took the idea of weight management and healthy lifestyle changes more seriously you would get farther. i mean, 2 days and you fall apart? how do you expect to suceed when you don't even give yourself a chance? show some self control and choose not to eat marble pound cake or stand behind your choice to blow the eating plan you are "rying" to follow and stop whining. it's cake, not life blood. you don't need it, you wanted it. now your crying out for others to help you. the ugly truth is that you have to take responsibility for yourself and either make the changes you know you need to make, or you won't change. why didn't you reach out before you ate the cake? a "help me NOT cheat" plea always gets responses and great advice. instead, you decided to sabotage your self and now you want to alleviate your guilt by sharing, by confessing. just do it. 2 days? you really haven't started yet.

Thank you

I'm the original poster, and I thank all of you for all of your encouragement and I even thank the 8:17 "tough love" poster. The point of joining PT is to get encouragement and advice from others who empathize with what it is to go through struggling with losing weight. So yeah, i did come crying to you for help, but damn, dont kick a person when they're already down. How do you expect them to get up after that?

I hope you all have a blessed and prosperous day.

when you're down but able to take another blow, it strengthens you the next time you're down and can motivate you to get up more quickly to avoid being kicked again. there were plenty of encouraging comments, and i would not have responded with my tough words if there hadn't been more forgiving comments already made. but to just tell you it's all going to be alright and you can do better without any criticism is unrealistic in my opinion. it is all up to you, ultimately, and it sounded like you needed to read that.

Thank you

You're right, but at the same time I'm a complicated woman, and these past 3 days have been extremely difficult as i'm changing my eating habits so drastically. In addition to that, i'm pre menstrual, so throw in a bag of unruly hormones in the mix, and you've got a dieting, crampy, hormonal crybaby on your hands who did need to hear what you had to say, but didnt want to hear it.

I'm definitely better today, as i realized that I could have made an even worse choice than a bite of marble cake. I'm back on track (especially since I got on the scale this morning and i'm now 4 pounds lighter). See ya on another thread!

a bit of advice: the next time you feel compelled or tempted to induldge, ask yourself, "how many days have i been really on track?" then add another day to that. remind yourself that cakes, cookies, ice cream, chips, etc. are not going to go away, but the temptation to ingest these things will...if you just give it one more day. tell yourself you can have the treat tomorrow. or even just later the same day. you can also write down all of the foods that you are tempted by in a given day. review the list before going to bed and see all of the things that you did not eat. until tomorrow. and then do that every day.

Would slowly changing your eating habits instead of jumping into a crash diet help? For me it wasn't about crash dieting, I started slow, ate healthy nutritious foods and exercised. Sure it took longer for the weight to come off but I lost it all and kept it off... I just think this ideas of "Fat Smash" or "South Beach" or "Atkins" don't work... Can you really eat that way LONG TERM?

12:19 - you said exactly what I was thinking. I've lost 18 lbs in 2 months, nothing extreme, just cutting portions and junk food. If I eat one piece of cake it's no big deal, I just have a smaller something else.
