What drives you crazy when you're trying to lose weight?

when someone in the office pops a bag of popcorn. even if i've just eaten it sends my craving through the roof!

Office saboteurs are the worse. I used to work with a skinny girl in a department of mostly overweight women. I think she was happy to keep us all fat and be the token skinny girl. After outlining my plan to her of healthy eating and exercise, she came over to my desk (10 minutes later?) with a piece of cake. I dumped it in the trash and then she got mad at me. ??? I feel very sorry for her. These days age, poor eating habits and lack of exercise are catching up. Last time I saw her I noticed (but said nothing, of course) that she'd put on about 15 lbs, a lot for her petite frame.

i have one at work as well. kept trying to get me to go out and get nachos and margs after work... i kept saying, let me lose a few more pounds before i go, i kept putting her off and she's finally stoppd asking! she's put on about 15 since... ah such sweet revenge when a skinny mini that eats with reckless abandon puts on a few...

i know, i know i'm offending some skinny girl. but i'm talking about the ones who don't care about their health... some are just as unhealthy internally if not more than some chunky people. good job to all those out there working on their health!

What drives me crazy is old grandma types - you know the one, as soon as you walk in the door "what do you want to eat?" and even if you tell them you JUST ate, "nonsense, I'll fix you a little snack." If you've seen My Big Fat Greek Wedding you might remember the mom doing this exact thing! And when it's a little old lady, you don't want to offend her...and she just won't give up! I think they haven't been able to adjust from when they had to cook for hard-working men, not us desk-bound women.

my mother!

tells me I'm overweight... asks me if I've lost weight when I talk ot her on the phone (we live an ocean apart) and then when I visit her, makes ALL my favorite foods for me -( everyday of my visit) and leaves the leftovers on the stove - so its hard to resist eating it at night! Visiting her always reverses all my efforts as I can't get back on track when I get back home. Its so hard to control this behavior because I think such thoughts as - "I can only eat her cooking once a year when I visit).... terrible! I have to do something about this because I am putting off a visit. (she owns her own catering company and comes from Italy - the food is scrumptious)

The knowledge that I eat more at work, cause I'm bored, than I do at home. Combined with hating my job, it is tough sometimes to get through the day w/out snacking too much just to make time pass.

Having commitment after commitment every weekend where there is tons of unheathy food & drinks. I know there are ways to combat this but it zaps my energy & motivation.
