Hip Hop Abs vs Turbo Jam

I really want to purchase one or the other of these DVD's. Has any one tried both and preferred one over the other? I can only afford one right now.

I have both and even purchased the entire series of both. In my opnion, Turbo Jam has given me a much better overall workout. It also may depend on your current fitness level, too. Hip Hop Abs was not much of a challenge for me at all. :( However, when I purchased the Level 2 Hip Hop Abs package it was much more cardio intensive.

After purchasing the intro package of turbo jam I was totally hooked and bought other TJ package available. It's been the only workout dvd series I have ever actually had fun doing. HHA is fun, too...just not challenging enough for me personally.

Hopefully others will respond with their views, too. Good luck!

I've tried both.. Totally hooked on Turbo Jam, and recently bought Hip Hop abs and haven't been able to get into it as much, but it is still fun. I feel like Turbo Jam gives me a better workout for sure.

OP here, how are the instructors? I know some are annoying, some don't talk enough, some talk too much, some are awesome! I'd love to hear more opinions!

Both instructors are very personable; very likeable. Chalene in Turbo Jam happens to be my favorite of all time. She is fun, a bit goofy at times, but not over the top to where it's a turn off. Sean T from HHA is also very likeable and funny...I just get a better workout from TJ.

OP here.

I just received my first Turbo Jam video and did the first parts today...I LOVE IT. I was a huge fan on TaeBo and kickboxing, so it fit me well. It's much more fun and upbeat than TaeBo. Glad I purchased it!

I LOVE turbo jam, haven't tried HHA, though. But even on days when I can't do much, Chalene's 20 minute turbo jam workout is SO SO SO fun. I love it, I really have been doing it mixed in with myother workouts for several months and have never tired of it.(I cannot do the same thing every day, so I do videos 1x-2x a week). I highly recommend turbo jam. it's really fun. And there are modifications of every move so a beginner can take it easy during when they need to!

I love Turbo Jam too! It's a great workout and fun. There are plenty of workouts to chose from in different lengths of time so when I rushed in the morning I can pop in the 20 min DVD and still feel like I got a quality workout. The music is great too!!

I'm glad you bumped this thread up, 9:23am

It's starting to get rainy and crappy where I live and I'm not going to be able to get to do my usual outdoor workout like I've been planning.

I never really liked the idea of working out with a DVD but everyone's recommendations here regarding Turbo Jam might just convince me yet!

Hip Hop Avs vs Turbo Jam

I have a set of each that I bought last year. I use both of them for variety. Neither makes me sweat like running on the treadmill or some of the Firm dvd's, but I think they are worth doing and add something different!

HHA vs Turbo Jam for abs

I have tried both, and have never had a better ab workout than Turbo Jam's 20-minute Ab Jam. I am 51 years old, have finally lost 30 lbs I put on when I quit smoking 8 years ago, and needed to firm up. I can now clearly see my obliques, and my abs are rock hard. It is fun and quick, and I try to do it eery other day.

I like Turbo jam

I havent tried hip hop abs. I heard about it but decided to purchase turbo jam instead. I'm really happy with my choice. Turbo jam is exactly what the infomercial advertises. I like to dance but alot of the workout vids i had was to difficult i could never understand the steps. But these steps are simple and the music is good. Like one of the songs they have is "party train "by the gap band and 'Goodies "by ciara. i dont know if you like that type of music but it is exactly what i like. so i would reccommend u try turbo jam
