OT: Wire or no wire
...in your bra.
I prefer no wire. However it is very difficult to find one without the wire that is feminine and sexy. When I do find it on rare occassion I buy a dozen. Am I the only one who prefers nice, sexy bra with no wire? Sure it feels like I am, since manufacturers do not seem to consider me.

I agree. They are uncomfortable and I finally gave up trying.

Wire. I don't even notice it.

Wire too. Maybe you've had a bad bra but I don't notice my wire at all!

I have a very thick rib cage and wire always dug into the top of my rib cage. I prefer no wore. Definitely more comfy.

The wire takes a while to get used to and like anything else i got used to it but without "the wire" is more comfortable is you go back to no wire. I think men must of designed the wire they are so uncomfortable.

I prefer underwire bras. I find them comfortable and more flattering on me. Something I have discovered over the years though (this is true for me, and it may or may not apply to you!) . . .
If an underwire bra is uncomfortable there are probably one of two things going on:
1) the bra you are wearing is too small for you-go up a cup or band size at least! (I wore the wrong size for years and wires always "pinched" me. Not so now. A bra (wireless or not) should never pinch, poke, or leave marks on your shoulders. Get professionally fitted if this is happening. You will be thankful you did!
2) the bra you are wearing isn't well made and the wires aren't holding their shape because the rest of the bra is lacking support. Underwire is more for shaping than anything else.

wire- I agree...you have to get the right size. Ive made the mistake of wearing one too tight.

do bras with underwires make the metal detectors go off (in an airport, for example)?

Never happened to me . . yet!!

9:05 your comment made me think..what if someone decides that wire in your bra is as dangerous as nail clippers...
I am sure nobody would dare, because that could start a revolution!!!

answer re airport metal detector
See the link for TSA's guidance on this. They're not forbidden but they recommend avoiding them because if it's picked up by the detector, you have to go through a more extensive search.
Whether it's picked up probably depends on what the wire is made of and how big it is.
OTOH, I have a metal plate and screws in my arm, and because it's all titanium, it doesn't set off the usual magnetic metal detectors, even though it has way more metal than any bra.

if you can feel the wire, then you're wearing the wrong size.... i suggest a professional bra fitting, and not at victoria's secret.

I've been professionally fitted and I still don't like to wear bras with a wire. I like wearing sexy bras on occasion so i'll deal with the discomfort but the rest of the time I wear sports bras. I'm a SAHM so having perky boobs isn't needed durring the day.
