SUNBURNED! and Yearbook pictures...HELP!

I went to Warped Tour (an outdoor festival concert) yesterday and didn't put sunscreen on (I left it on my table...rawr). That + 14 hours in the summer sun has left me burned beyond belief on my shoulders and face. I'm not so worried about the redness or peeling, because I've been drenching myself in aloe and face cream. Although, it's STILL painful.

My issue is that I was wearing a spaghetti strap and now I have a light tanline where my shirt was. My HS yearbook pictures are in 14 days, and the top we must wear is boat-necked - and they will not photoshop out tanlines.

Any ideas how to get it to fade? Perhaps rubbing a little gradual self-tanner into the whiter area? Has anyone tried this? HELP!

Thanks in advance!

After the redness subsides in about a week (give or take), use a scrub every day to rub away the rest of the tan. worst come to worst, use a tinted moisturizer in a lighter color to cover it up.

OP here... the burn's not that bad... just a little painful.

And so far, so good. I've been really attentive to it and have been slathering lotion and oil and tea on it (tea helps burns). The redness is down a lot, and it hasn't started peeling, so something tells me it won't (hopefully).

If it turns to a tan, I'll probably just try a gradual self-tanning lotion and if it still shows a little before the picture, use a little bronzer on the area.

Thanks for the comments and help back!

Yeah, as the burn subsides, re-evaluate. You can definitely use a gradual self-tanner on the area, and bronzer the day of, and I'm sure it won't even be noticeable by then! It's 2 weeks away!

If you are out in the sun again, first of all, wear sunscreen. And second, don't wear a shirt with the same straps, as it'll just enhance the tanline.

OP here... what now?! IT PEELED. Oh jeez. I think I'm going to let it peel and then go fake-bake? I have no idea what to do. The peeling is pretty noticable.

And 2,28, I asked for help and suggestions. Not for your negative comments. And a little tanline isn't going to 'ruin' my pictures, I'd just like to get rid of them.

OP is the line that noticeable? I would scrub the peeling area lightly and try the ideas given at home before the pics are taken. Why are they making you where a certain kind of shirt?

OP here...

So that they can be a PAINNNN.

Nah, I guess it's so everyone's wearing the same thing? It actually looks very nice. It's a draping boatnecked/v necked dress they just fopr the headshots.

I think I'm going to exfoliate the area tomorrow. Then next week (after the burn has healed) go to the beach and pray.
