Ozzie here looking to chat to others if interested!
Hey there. I am an Ozzie male (Australian before I get pulled up for my poor spelling) and am keen to chat to others on the other side of the planet. Lets chat - keep me interested while I am at work.
Mon. Jul 30, 12:29am
Get back to work! =) Are you working on losing weight? Do you have any weight related questions?
Monday, July 30, 2007, 1:25 AM
Back to work - I am. I am at the other end of the stick. I am a health professional that like to offer support and suggestions. Working hard to help others not only here but all over the world thanks.

How's Australia? What kind of weather are you having? What kind of diet are you following?
Monday, July 30, 2007, 4:37 AM
What kind of job do you have as a health professional?

aussie, aussie, aussie, oi oi oi!
A former resident of Oz here, I'm an American but I lived in Sydney (Chippendale/Redfern to be exact). Where are you living?
How'd you find PT? Are you here just to give health advice or are you here for your own health goals?
Best of luck to you!
Monday, July 30, 2007, 2:23 PM
WOW - so many questions!!
Living in South Australia - Adelaide to be exact. Weather is warming after a cold stretch in early winter - days starting to get longer again and time to get the road bike out of the shed soon.
I am here cause I love healthy living and assisting others. As said, I am a health carer, but also a fitness junky. Love triathlons, running and general activity. But love asisting others to get involved too.
Any more questions i can answer for anyone?
Monday, July 30, 2007, 9:10 PM
ohh road bike sounds amazing. I use to get rides from my cuz on the back of his motercycle.. I loved it. the feeling of the wind in your face. the adrenaline rush.. I havent been on a bike in some time.. I miss it.. the next thing i want to try is skydiving . everyone thinks I'm crazy lol
I too love helping people in any way I can.. its amazing how something you can say or do can motivate or help someone see that they are not alone. that they can reach for their dreams.
so are you married or what.. I'm married living in the uk.. Im latina mixed american though lol. met my husband online.
I love meeting and chating to different people.
anyway take care sweetie.. talk soon..

Tuesday, July 31, 2007, 1:00 PM
Have you seen the show "Flight of the Conchords." It's hilarious, but they poke fun of Australians at times.
Tuesday, July 31, 2007, 4:04 PM
Yes I am married. I run a persoanl development course and also work with younger people on fitness programs.
I have not see the show you have suggested - but us Ozzies love a good joke.
Wednesday, August 1, 2007, 9:15 PM
hey aussie,
that must be very rewarding working with youth helping them to better thier lives.
I commend you. so what kind of fitness programs do you start. and what exactly is in your personal development course. sorry Im a leo.. curious by nature.
anyway , its good to know there are people out there that want to help others and not just looking out for themselves.
as for a good laugh ,I think a good sense of humor keeps us sane in the worst of times. its a wonderful characteristic to have. take care and talk soon.

Yes it is all true that I just want a chat while at work. I run a fitness and self esteem program for both youth and adults here at work. I love the active life and am just trying to inspire and help others. Lots of bike riding and getting out into the outdoors and enjoying life.
Monday, August 6, 2007, 1:42 AM
I think thats great oz.. more people need to get involved in helping others. especially the youth or they are going to be the next generation of overweight adults if parents are not careful.
I see it all the time kids sitting in front of the pc and not out being active.. well on that note Im off for my walk.. talk soon.

Monday, August 13, 2007, 12:31 AM
What has been your proudest moment when it comes to training for an event, or a race, or just an accomplishment that you've had when it comes to sports?
Monday, August 13, 2007, 1:25 AM
Wow- big question. Mmmmm Different highlights in different parts of my life. I guess I had many good highlights playing golf in my 20's before getting married and having kids (several sub-par rounds, hole in one, club championships, pennant and open championship wins), in my 30's I took up triathlons and cycling - completed several long evnts and won 30 - 40 year old age bracket in state triathlon champs, but generally the best acheivement is watching and motivating my little fella in sport. Without a doubt the best achievement yet!
Monday, August 13, 2007, 1:29 AM
how old is your son & what kind of sports does he play? I have a 4 year old and currently he takes tae kwon do and we have discussed soccer and/or t-ball this year. do you think that's too many activities for a 4 yo? I dont want to push him I just want him to be active and have fun while getting some exercise.
thanks.
Monday, August 13, 2007, 9:22 AM
not the Oz ,but I have a nephew that does tae kwon do.. plays soccer and now is doing tbal.. he loves all of them He is now seven , but has been doing them since he was four and has always enjoyed them
I would say just let him try them if it gets to be too much you can always drop something. its great you give him chnaces to be involved in things.. too many parents dont make that effort these days.
they let computers and tv take over as enjoyment for thier kids time.
I think its great kids are being active at early ages.
oz.. I agree its always great to see your kids accomplishing things and enjoying life and being healthy. that is a wonderful achievement .
take care.. talk later everyone.. Lynneta
Monday, August 13, 2007, 12:15 PM
It's hot in PA. Really hot.
Hey Ozzie - I think your accent is really annoying.
Monday, August 13, 2007, 1:19 PM
ohh but pa accents are sexy.. most people think so anyway.. I love my brits accent and I have a aussie friend.. I love his accent and My italian friend.. ok yes I love accents lol
take care all

My son is currently playing soccer but loves riding his bike and generally doing anything active. Loves being chased. We live on a small farm so he has plenty of room to get around.
Monday, August 13, 2007, 10:07 PM
We don't have an accent - it is just those annoying Americans with what they call English - they butcher the language!!
I hope you were just trying to be funny as I am. I love listening to people from all over the world. Currently have someone from Colorado working here.
Monday, August 13, 2007, 10:10 PM
* laughs * oz you better watch it bud, * grins*.. I'm latina american living in the uk lol.
I love accents though so I will let you off the hook.. besides this american doesnt have an accent. well at least thats what I say. the brits here seem to think I do..
I grew up alot on a farm when I was younger. I had fields to run and ride my bike in .its a great atmosphere for kids . I also had every animal just about besides a horse and a cow. I loved it.
I still have a love for animals and nature now,
so how many kids do you have.
well its early here, I work later so Im off for my walk before work.
have agreat day. hope you dont get too bored.
you should get yahoo messenger. its easier to chat with someone.
btw do you have a log on here or you staying in the shadows.
take care and talk later..

Yes, I was kidding about the accent. But I really do hate some accents, like most American accents. If people here are from the US, they can agree that most areas of the US have a different one. Take New Jersey, Philadelphia, NY, Boston, Texas, Luisiana. All very different. I hate them all haha. Usually an accent shows lack of education.
I'm not an American, but I have no accent whatsoever. SOmetimes people are even baffled by how "properly" I speak. I Like it that way.
Tuesday, August 14, 2007, 10:18 AM
As long as we are all talking - what ever you sound like is ok with me
Wednesday, August 15, 2007, 7:11 PM
I just watched the movie "Ned Kelly". Is he really as revered in Australia as the movie makes it sound?
Friday, August 17, 2007, 1:59 AM
Not as all - probably like Jessie James in the states
