How do we get the jesus freaks off pt?
all ideas are welcome. I'm done with them.
Thu. Jul 26, 8:09pm
haha love it.
but in all seriousness, i have no problem with others' religious beliefs, but please, just stop shoving it in our faces. why is it fair that you be able to push your own beliefs on me when i may believe in my own just as strongly? and i'm sure you wouldn't even consider my beliefs of a different religion as being true if we were pushing them on you, just because you are so resolute that your religion holds the truth. well, i feel the same about mine, so i guess we're at a standstill, and if you arent willing to consider mine, then stop being so sure that i want to hear yours. thanks!
Thursday, July 26, 2007, 8:27 PM
this is supposed to be a community for weightloss. its ridiculous that religion has even found a way onto the message boards.
Thursday, July 26, 2007, 8:28 PM
To 8:28...
I hear you, but I must admit that I have a looooong history of approaching the scales while muttering, "oh please god oh please god oh please god," and then walking away again with, "oh thank you god oh thank you god oh thank you god."
;-)
Thursday, July 26, 2007, 8:35 PM
Then let's get the abortion thread off, too. It seems to me that the person who started that thread was trying to shove their beliefs down my throat.
Thursday, July 26, 2007, 9:09 PM
god-allah-l ron hubbard-buddah-krishna-david koresh bless america! (or where ever else you live)
1. doesn't the constitution say freedom of religion not freedom FROM religion?
2. freedom of speech is exactly what it says- FREEDOM OF SPEECH not FREEDOM FROM BEING OFFENDED!
3. you're taking away the freedom of other people's speech when you ask for threads to be removed because you don't like what it says.
4. exercise your own freedoms by not reading something that you'll be offended by.
Thursday, July 26, 2007, 10:04 PM
8:35, this is 8:28... thanks for a laugh! :)
Thursday, July 26, 2007, 10:26 PM
Rather than getting Jesus freaks and abortion topics off of PT, why don;t you stop reading them if they bother you so much? The title pretty much tells you the topic and if it doesn;t reading the forst comment ot two should.
You have the choice to read or not to read it. No one is forcing you.
Rather, I wish there was a way to prevent nasty, intolerant remarks.
Thursday, July 26, 2007, 10:56 PM
Who cares, don't read their comments if it bothers you. Its a free country and most people have a belief in God in some way or another.
Thursday, July 26, 2007, 10:59 PM
life is religion
I needed that laugh! Are we bored? I say, whatever works -do it! If it's through Jesus, good for you. Expression without being pushy is nice though. On the other hand there's a great tendency to complain about others (myself included), if we worked out 5 minutes everytime we complained, we'd have to consume more calories, don't ya think?
I better go workout, what am I doing? heehee
Thursday, July 26, 2007, 11:10 PM
I wish we could get all Jesus bashers off PT.
Sunday, July 29, 2007, 10:52 PM
Lets just get all the people off that can't say anything nice no matter the topic!
Sunday, July 29, 2007, 10:53 PM
I think we should figure out a way to get everyone off of PT whose worldview, belief system, diet preferences, health concepts, and you know, pretty much everything else doesn't correspond exactly with mine.
Monday, July 30, 2007, 1:31 AM
PT does not censor based of religious or political threads.....I've already asked. Neither do they censor based on profanity or rudeness. The advice given me from the co-founder, Mr. Wicks, was "if you know the thread is going to be offensive to you, don't read it".
Monday, July 30, 2007, 7:42 AM
Agape
Christ loves all of us, regardless of our opinions :) He might not agree or approve, but the LOVE is there whether you like it or not.
God Bless America and everyone else!

It's kind of funny how teh interwebs short-circuit our usual common sense and courtesy. If you were at a party, and at the party were various groups of people talking about various subjects, you'd probably drift towards the groups that were talking about stuff you were interested in. At the same time, you wouldn't find a group that was talking about something you didn't agree with and just start yelling at them for being idiots...
And yet, because we're all anonymous here, we just throw our manners right out the window.
The best way to short circuit the rude people who try and get attention by acting like jerks is to ignore them, plain and simple. If you pay attention, you give them what they want- a fight. If you don't, they eventually get bored and move along.
If you don't like the christian threads, just ignore them. If someone starts proseletyzing at you, ignore them. don't comment back, just ignore it. They'll go away. Similarly, christians, if you find a thread on abortion offensive, why on earth would you waste your time reading it?
Try and remember that we're all supposed to be here trying to support each other in getting healthy, not triggering road rage.
Monday, July 30, 2007, 12:22 PM
11:31 I'm with you!
Wednesday, August 1, 2007, 1:22 PM
8:28
You say this board is for weightloss, but I see SO many other threads that have NOTHING to do with weightloss. Yes Religion may be one of them, but there is abortion, messy men, even sex... those may be offensive to people too.
BUT you just don't read them if they bother you. Thast what I do. I see a heading for something I don't like, I don't read it. Easiest solution.
Wednesday, August 1, 2007, 1:32 PM
No matter what anyone says, weight loss has nothing to do with religion. I am a very religious person and I also am very interested and consumed by my diet and excercise patterns. But nowhere do the two passions intertwine. I think that if someone is that hopeless and desperate to lose weight that they can't do it any other way but to include God into it, they are never going to suceed. God helps those who help themselves. And he will not magically remove all that waste you have spent your entire life gluttonously accumulating.
Thursday, August 2, 2007, 10:04 AM
I think sometimes a person will find something to complain about no matter what. If you don't like a thread - DON'T read it. It's that simple. Everyone has a right to state what they believe in and what they don't. It does not matter if you agree or not with that view. If someone feels that their faith in God helps them with their weight loss goals ... more power to them.
Thursday, August 2, 2007, 12:11 PM
Amen!
Thursday, August 2, 2007, 12:13 PM
i think the rude people are probably rude in real life, too. soem don't even realize that so many others find them to be rude.
Thursday, August 2, 2007, 12:16 PM
that is probably very true 12:16. I hate a hard time being rude to people on here because I am not that way in person. And I am not just blowing smoke. I get shocked by the reactions of some people on here and learn not to get my feelings hurt. I just wonder how they are in real life.
Thursday, August 2, 2007, 12:29 PM
ok you know I really didn't care about this thread until I realized how stupid people are on another thread
I can't believe that there are actually people out there who don't believe in evolution of a species, but rather that man "poof" came into existance.
Small thoughts from small minds
Thursday, August 2, 2007, 2:38 PM
i can't believe there are people out there that don't believe in God. how can you not? Look around you.
thinking we came from a puddle is using a small mind.
Thursday, August 2, 2007, 2:42 PM
What evidence is there to Prove God
Because there is PLENTY to prove human evolution.
Thursday, August 2, 2007, 2:43 PM
How do we get the jesus freaks off pt?
pray.
Thursday, August 2, 2007, 3:05 PM
there are at least 5 presidential hopefuls who openly admit that they do not believe in evolution. please pay attention to the election process, americans!!! let's not become another religiously-run country!!!
Thursday, August 2, 2007, 3:07 PM
that is when the anit-christ becomes president
Thursday, August 2, 2007, 3:10 PM
Some people would argue that he already IS the president.
Thursday, August 2, 2007, 3:14 PM
I'll Take the Anti-Christ Anyday over A Bible Thumper
And for the record, just because I don't believe in god, doesn't mean that I am evil. Quite the contrary Christians have commited some hineous crimes against others in the name of religion. So if anything you are the evil one, not to mention simple minded, because obviously you will swallow any garbage that a man with a bible will tell you.
Thursday, August 2, 2007, 3:18 PM
what do you mean by lets not become another religously ran country? The people that came here, came for religious freedom, and this country was formed by religious people in the first place.
Thursday, August 2, 2007, 4:59 PM
May the lord bless you and keep you. I pray for you guys all the time. If you want to get rid of this thread then don't respond. This is america right? Isn't freedom of religion our foundation. I don't think the Founding Fathers thought theyed be dealing with athiestists. whatever You are free here too. Let's just keep the focus on our seleves and not worry about what a fellow member writes.DON"T RESOND ! Maybe you like to debate!
Thursday, August 2, 2007, 6:27 PM
"In God We Trust" is written on money. That is there for a reason.
Thursday, August 2, 2007, 6:32 PM
ahhahaha 3:14 I agree!
Thursday, August 2, 2007, 6:38 PM
The evidence to support evolution is very feeble at best. When I look at creation I see all the intricasies of how things work together and I know it is not all an accident. Archeology consistantly supports the Bible accounts of history. There is every bit as much evidence (scientific not faith based) for creationism as there is for evolution. It all boils down to I have faith in God and you have faith in man made science.
Saturday, August 4, 2007, 1:12 AM
Yeah, but science can prove evolutionary evidence. Show me proof of creationism. I'm not saying it's not a nice story and life isn't beautiful, but I think your logic is flawed. I believe in God, and I think he may be responsible for "creation" in general but perhaps he created evolution. No, really! He created life for it to evolve and develop the way it does, and that is why we can prove things on an evolutionary level but not on a religious level.
Saturday, August 4, 2007, 1:25 AM
I agree with 1:25, I believe God created everything and then it all evolved to adapt. I thought even the pope accepted evolution?
Saturday, August 4, 2007, 7:15 AM
Evolution can't be proved. There are some things that support the theory, but it has not been proved. There are a growing number of non-Christian scientists who no longer support the theory, they just have more trouble getting published because they don't go along with the acceptable norm.
Neither can true 7 day creationism be proved. But it does have just as much evidence to support it. Archeology is one of the strongest supporters.
If anyone is truely interested, I'll dig out the references.
There are other points of view than what is presented in the main stream. Remember that science once thought that many illnesses were caused by too much blood and so out came the leaches.
Sunday, August 5, 2007, 10:28 AM
Anyone else find it somewhat humouous that this started as a thread to get rid of "Jesus freaks" and is now debating evolution? teeheehee
Sunday, August 5, 2007, 10:30 AM
Love to you
The love of Jesus will find it's way and power into it all, The love of God overcomes all things. With God All things are possible.
Thank the LORD!
Many prayers for the "lost" souls, may they find inner peace so that they may be kind and supportive to their brothers and sisters regardless of a difference in believes.
Monday, August 6, 2007, 2:20 PM
i hope so strongly that you will wake up someday and realize that what you have in your imagination, while it may be a common misconception, is just that, a misconception about the origins and destiny of humankind. i look forward to the day when common sense is not so uncommon.
Monday, August 6, 2007, 2:26 PM
there are bashers every where... I guess you can't help who you are but all this shows is how childish you are to do this in this paticular thread, why not make your own, you know you are just stirring things up this way...I pity you!
Monday, August 6, 2007, 2:36 PM
WHO'S BASHING? THE LAST TWO COMMENT MERELY STATED HELD OPINIONS. I READ NOTHING RUDE IN EITHER POSTING.
Monday, August 6, 2007, 2:38 PM
Why post something like that in THIS thread when you know it is a religious topic?? I have no issues with an opinion but personally I think it is just to rile...guess I should have posted this in the 'other religious thread' but come one...but just look at the title, total put down, but like that, this is also wasted space...sorry bout't that!
Monday, August 6, 2007, 2:46 PM
Is it unreasonable to say that "believers" and "non-believers" each think the other is uninformed and ignorant of the truth? It is obviously unrealistic to think they could co-exist and the believers have there threads where they are content and happy and the unbelievers have there threads where they can talk about whatever it is that inspires them to greatness and weightloss.
Wednesday, August 8, 2007, 11:08 AM
Well clearly your not done with them if you are so annoyed by their beliefs that you want them gone. Don't be so childish, just don't read what they have to say and let it be. WHy does it bother you so much? Its a free country. I'm not religious and I don't even believe in God but the majority of this world believes in something sort of God. Its their belief don't let it bother you. I would say you have some sort of inner conflict going on and it upsets you. Maybe you were brought up a Catholic?
Wednesday, August 8, 2007, 12:12 PM
wow. way to take a dig at catholics. what prompted the insulting remark?
Wednesday, August 8, 2007, 12:45 PM
12:12 Everything you said made sense, then why the last mean comment? I was suprised.
