Excess belly fat
I am a 37 year old woman. Once I turned 35, I became the proud owner of excess body fat. I see the Relacore commercials, and sometimes I'm tempted to try them. However, I prefer the more natural method. I am a runner (I've run 3 marathons); I also enjoy yoga and pilates. Is there anything else I can do to minimize the excess? I would like to lose at least 10 more pounds (preferably 15), so maybe it will start looking better then?
Thanks!

Since you're pretty active already, you might try adding a different type of exercise that your body hasn't become accustomed to. I'm thinking something like rowing that works your arms and abs, but even something like cycling would use your leg muscles in ways you aren't used to.

do you lift weights? since you're a long distance runner it'd be beneficial to add muscle to help protect you joints. and you could get that lean strong look.
if you don't lift weights already, try taking some lifting classes at a local gym. they're lots of fun and are a great workout.
if you do already lift and do cardio at least 3 times/wk, then maybe look at your eating habits and see if you could cut back on some calories to lose the 10 lbs.

Amen on the weight lifting. One of my instructors is also a marathon runner and she said once she started weight training she could see a huge difference in her body and strength. It will also help you slim down and tone up.

From OP: Yes, I do some weight training, but I have been in a slump lately. I normally work out with weights 3 times a week.
I actually eat fairly healthy, but I admit that I don't work out the way I did last year. I hope to get back into it again.

Belly fat (as opposed to fat elsewhere) is linked to high levels of stress hormones like cortisol. Are you stressed out or not sleeping?

Actually, I am known for getting stressed easily, and I don't generally sleep well. I am working on relaxation techniques to help.

Here is a new PEERtrainer article on the subject:
How To Get Rid Of Excess Belly Fat
What is interesting about that article is that it goes into the 3 things that you really need to be doing- and it is not just diet that helps you btw.
You'll also learn that belly fat is a slightly different animal in relation to other kinds of fats.
