I just saw the commercial for it on TV and was a little sucked-in myself. :)

It's a smaller sized exercise ball, about the size of a bowling ball instead of the usual larger, beach ball sized ones. The exercises the models were doing were modified for the smaller ball. They were abs and butt exercises shown.

I was half-asleep when I watched... does it come with a DVD or just an exercise book?

This is weird because my bf just asked me today if I wanted one for my bday. Ha...I saw the infomercial too and it looked pretty good. I am pretty sure it comes with a dvd. It makes sense, crunches should go fwd and back to help tighten the muscle. I think they would be a lot harder. Like you have to pull yourself up from bending backward.

I think if you really want to focus on your abs, it is worth a try. I think it was pretty inexpensive so it might be worth it. Although you might want to try doing it using a rolled up blanket first, just to see if you would be able to stick with it.

It's not going to be a miracle either. If you don't do crunches now, you won't do them with the ball either.

I've seen magazine workouts with this - it's different from a weighted medicine ball, right? I'd classify it as a gadget rather than a gimmick.

DON'T BUY ONE!!

This ball is a waste of time. It is basically your everyday kids playground ball. THe DVD is basically a how to do a sit up tape..lasts about 15 minutes. The worst part is when you buy one they automatically sign you up to be in a program that sends you 2 new DVDs every other month and they charge you 19.99 plus 3.99 s&h without asking. I had to bitch to get a refund and they still wont refund me the 3.99 plus the cost its going to cost me to send it back. They were rude, unhelpful and avoided my questions. So NOT WORTH the aggravation.

I Really Like It!

I get pretty bad back pain when doing an ab workout & this helps me get through the workout without my lower back hurting. After I watched the DVD that came with the ball, I started using it with my other workout DVD's. The ball is definitely not like the balls that my children have - it has much more give to it. It is like the larger stability balls.

The packing slip stated that I was signed up for Continuous Shipments (which I did not want) so I called the 800 number of the invoice & asked to not receive any more shipments. She said 'ok' & gave me a cancellation confirmation number. It took me all of 2 minutes.

So I've been looking at reviews of the bender ball and this comment keeps showing up word for word, could they possibly be involved with the company that sells the ball?? I think so...

If you want to do better ab work, don't get a ball, just check out the "matthew's method" online. Free, and effective. And there's nothing being sold.

I LOVE the Bender Ball

I have been in a pilates class for the past year and a half. We use this ball in class. It is very useful for many reasons.

It helps build strength because you can squeeze it between your knees or ankles when doing ab or other exercises. It gives you better overall strength training.
AND, the best part...
If you have a bad back, like me, it helps you to do the exercises without hurting your back. If you have done pilates and aren't very strong in your abs yet, you may notice that you strain your lower back. You can putt this ball under your butt when you are doing exercises, such as leg lifts, and it completely takes strain off the lower back. SO awesome.

I completely endorse this ball. I own two. I am in no way affiliated with the people who make them. I am a law school student who doesn't have much time to work out. But it is important for me to do pilates at home to strenghten my back. This ball makes it possible for me to do that without hurting my lower back.

For those who don't know what it is. It is a small, usually blue, ball, 9" in diameter, that blows up.

Don't Do It!!!!

Listen, I have to tell you three weeks later and I am still waiting on my wonderful little bender ball. Sure I got some cheezie cardio video of some GEEK and some vitamins in the mail right away AND CHARGED FOR IT. I am still waiting on this glorious Bender Ball. I decided to do some research on what people thought of it. Sure, after I ordered it. I see NOTHING but horrible reviews of it and charged extra. Do yourself a favor if you are reading articles regarding this apparent piece of crap. Go to Wal-Mart or what ever little sports store you like to shop at and get you a simple little child's dodge ball. I purchased one this evening for $2.68. I got home and tried it the same way the infomercials were doing crunches. TRUST me, the method works. I am use to doing crunches on a Core Secret Ball and I felt the burn more with my little dodge ball. I hope I don't have NEAR the trouble most have been having with their order. Save yourselves and just go get a dodge ball from Wal-Mart. You can find them at the end of the toy section right where the sports section starts. Toodles and good luck to you all.

Bender Ball Gets My Vote

It did take about 3 1/2 weeks for my Bender Ball to arrive, but it came together with its video. I have to say that I really quite like it. It's simple to use and I love that the workouts are short and sweet and that they target specific areas like abs and buns/thighs. I'd give it a thumbs up.

BENDER BALL ROCKS!

For those of you who are wondering....YES it really works! I love it, never had any hassles and would buy it again. It took a little while to place the order & receive it but they do not "automatically" sign you up for deliveries of product. They ask you when you place the order. All you have to say is no if you don't want anything else shipped to you. I say give it a try! All you have to lose is LOVE HANDLES :)

DO NOT ORDER THE BENDER BALL

About a month after I originally bought the product, this company charged me 47.60 for a product I didnt order and didnt want. So I called right away and they wouldnt give me a refund so I complained and called back a couple of times and finally someone told me I could refuse the package when it was delivered and when it arrived back to them I would receive a full refund. I also at that time was very angry and I told that person I had already opened the box because I had no idea what was in it and they said that I would have to pay to ship it back. I told them that I expected a refund on the return shipping as well in that I had never ordered it and it was an unauthorized charge and now a waste of my time. They gave me a RA number at that time and an address to send it to and they told me I would receive a full refund on that as well. I did exactly what they told me to do and about a month later I received a partial refund for the product I never ordered to begin with, 43.28. So I have called numerous times and always get the run around that they don't give refunds on shipping... DO NOT ORDER THE BENDER BALL! They have HORRIBLE BUSINESS PRACTICES and are UNPROFESSIONAL and MANIPULATING! I know I'm only out about $8 but that isn't the point! And it is not even that good, buy a pilates dvd instead and save yourself the hassle and frustration... it may even contribute to herniated discs...

I saw the infomercial and became really interested in the product but after reading the review of all the hassles in ordering it etc.. (the product reviews itself seemed to be satisifying) I became weary. So after thinking I looked on amazon.com and ordered the video and a similar ball all for the grand total of $32.00,, with absolutely no hassels.

I order the bender ball and it took a month to receive. that was with a delivery update. I called to cancel and was offer a $5.00 discount if I did not cancel and I agreed. After waiting 30 days to receive the bender ball the company never credit me with discount. I return the item on May 3,2008 and I'm still waitingn for them to refund my money. Not to mention the company debit my account for the second shipment. Now I am waiting for them two refunds. I keep getting the run around from customer service rep. Do not buy this product you will never get your money back.

Benderball ripoff

They will send you the product after weeks of waiting, then even if you say no to all of their aggressive sales tactics they will charge your account without your knowlege or permission and send you things you don't want.

If you have already been ripped off. I recommend you call Leslee Benders studio.

It's a ripoff

They will charge your account behind your back for things you don't want even if you say no to all their aggressive sales tactics, then they want to make you pay the postage to send the unwanted items back. This company is VERY underhanded in their sales and customer service tactics.

I am going to try the pilates items from another store.

The Bender Ball .

I had watched the commercial on T.V. about "The Bender Ball" at least a thousand times before I called the company and ordered it . After placing my order and 20 minutes of and you can buy this ,this and this if you order NOW from an prerecorded phone order , I felt a bad feeling in my stomach .... a couple of days later another company called me saying they could just charge my credit card ending in #### for another product that I had ordered from this other company and they shared my credit card information with this other company! I have contacted the company and I'm waiting for a response from someone other than Frank @ work station number 69102. I finally did get a response from Linda Perry projects Manager from The Bender Ball , It took her a while to find my order because they had spelled my last name wrong . Donna Mogan order # 04183384 . Her response was to make me happy and refund my money which they did and said they do not share credit card information . I was not happy with her response because I had was approached by another company that had my credit card information given to them by The bender ball company and a customer service employee that said they share credit card information . I'm still waiting to hear from the corporate office of The Bender Ball . www.benderball.com

I received my ball a week ago and love it! It is a quick abs workout that you can really feel! I have a large ball and have done a bazillion crunches but after a few days I get bored with crunches. This is so quick, to the point, and you can feel it! I am looking forward to the results. I saw in a lot of these comments about the expense and being automatically signed up for things but I did not experience either. I opted to get the buns and thighs workout as well and with shipping it totaled to 20bucks...not bad! I've also seen a lot of comments about getting a cheap ball from the store...I don't think I would recommend that! Some of the exercises from the abs and the buns/thighs workouts require you to put the ball under your tail bone with your body weight resting on the ball. This bender ball has a lot of give and bounces back once you get your bum off of it... I don't think a dodge ball is going to cooperate like this one does! Like I read in another comment it is a great tool to use with palates stretches and moves...I have extremely tight hamstrings that no matter how much I stretch are tight and this little ball helps me move them into a deeper stretch when I put it under my tail bone! I give it an A+... go for it!

Don't buy it! I too was drawn in by the commerical and bought it. They send you a dvd with about 5 mins of acutal ab work and a small not so round unstable ball. Once you pay for that, they keep charging your credit card $27 a month because they automatically enrolled you in their maintanence program which sends two new dvds every month. Their website doesn't mention this nor do they tell you this when I ordered on the phone. It's a nice little scam though because you have to return the unwanted ones within a month with a legitimate carrier (as it was put to me on the phone) to ensure the return is processed.

The Bender Ball works...But...

The ball itself works. It gives you an excellent abdominal workout. The first time I used it I thought "I don't feel a thing" but then the next day I could barely sit up. Take it easy at first. The ball is pretty poor quality...it needs to be constantly blown up (gets pretty irritating). Now for the "but"... the company has been running a scam by signing customers up for a continuity program without their knowledge, luckily I found out BEFORE I ordered. Here is a great article on the Bender Ball scam...

I purchased an exercise ball from this company in Feb 2008, I was not satisfied with the product, but I kept it, a month later (March, 2008), I received an exercise video from them. I never ordered it. The company, not me, decided that I wanted the video, They sent it and charge my credit card $26.98. If I wanted my money back, I had to send it back, which I did with a proof of delivery. I am upset that I had to spend my money, my time, in order to get back my money. Since then I have called and written to the credit card company in 4 different occasions. Their replay is that If you give a merchant your Credit Card number you are at fault. I had proof that I sent the product back. This was in February and I am still waiting for the $20.91, that they owe me. I placed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, the company has 828 complaints as of today

I LOVE mine!

As a group exercise instructor, I first saw the Bender Balls this July at the IDEA fitness convention in Las Vegas. I was taking a training for another piece of equipment and we received a demonstration of the ball for use in group-ex classes. I loved it so much I bought 25 of them and now use them in the strength section of all of my classes. 5-7 classes a week, all age groups and fitness levels.

What I like the best about it is that by protecting the low back during a reverse crunch (sit on the floor, lean back 20-30 degrees, then come back up to a sit), you can get a much larger range of motion without low-back and neck pain.

I'm not involved with Bender Ball company in any way, just a happy purchaser with happy aerobics students. :-) I didn't experience the sales tactics mentioned here since I bought the items directly at a fitness convention.

Dodge ball is just as good!

I was intrigued by the infomercial as well but rather than spend the money I bought a cheap playground ball and did the exercises on my own. The method works but the hyped up price is not worth it. Get the same results by going to Target and picking up a cheap ball.

DO NOT BUY INTO THIS MARKETING SCAM!!! I placed an order on12/23 which according to the infomercial should have cost about $18.00. As of today, 12/26, they debited my bank account $60.80. I used the after hours auot-system which states I will be getting health services, at the cost of 29.95 per month - I was given no option to decline. The incredibly long call continues to offer other products and services, each time I responded "No", they then ask "Are you sure", etc. Immediately after the call ended I went online to cancel the order, and called the next morning to verify that it had been cancelled. I was told they could not do it because the order was not in ther system and to call the next morning. I did, and then was told it was too late to cancel. So, not only am I out the $60.00, these charges will incur a $35.00 overdraft fee. I have contacted the BBB, as well as my lawyer. It's a huge scam. Just go to Target and buy one if you like, but stay away from these people.

It is GREAT!!!

The Bender Ball is great. I have heard of all of the problems withordering it online so I went to walmart and bought mine. It was a few more $$ but did not have to go thru the online hassle. I used for a couple of weeks and started having ab muscles that I have never had in my life. I am 46 year old female and the Bender Ball is great for your abs!!!

I tryed it and I was really impressed with the work out. I was sore for 2 days. My only regret is that I dont get to it more often. It is a nice modification to mat pilates. I found a simialare danskin ball at walmart with a video for 8 bucks. If you want, try it first and you can always take it back to Walmart with a reciept for a refund.

DON'T BUY ONE!! REPLY:

When you purchase the Bender Ball they ask you if you want to join up with the continuing purchase of new DVD's etc. JUST SAY NO! I bought one, it came with a DVD, I love it and I haven't received any other items or bills from the company. I was in the military and yet I haven't found anything to include the Ab Lounge that hit as many muscle groups as the Bender Ball! I recommend it to everyone!

I have the bender ball and I like it.
I agree about the being signed up for the additonal tapes but I just told them up front I only wanted the ball and I didn't get anymore.
I think you could use a playground ball also. It might not be as comfortable.
but I can tell the difference in doing a regula sit up and doing them on the bender ball.
the way I looked at it, it was only $10.00.

Good Product

Well I just bought it today. From Target. So I didnt have to worry about the wait, crazy fees and billing. For $19.99 I got the ball and 3 dvds. The dvds are short 30 mns. 16mins and 18 mins. I was thinking the same thing about the kids ball but those are way too full of air and we just pop out during the excercise. I have not tried out the dvds yet but just started doing sit ups with it and it feels just like doing it on a big ball but less back and neck pain. So far so good. My jaw dropped when I saw what other people were paying. Only thing if you want more dvds you have to go to website and order them. None of them are over 30 mins and they cost $20 each.

I PURCHASED THE BENDER BALL ON THEIR SITE AND JUST FOUND OUT THAT THERE IS A ATTACHMENT TO THE BILL THAT YOU AGREE IN BUYING THEIR DVD WITH AUTO PAYMENT TO YOUR CREDIT CARD GIVEN WHEN YOU PURCHASE. THEY DEBIT $ 26.80 IN ON MONTH AND $ 19.99 THE FOLLOWING MONTH, SO SMALL AMOUNTS LIKE THIS YOU DO NOT EVEN NOTICE IN YOUR CREDIT CARD, SO FOR 6 MONTHS I WAS CHARGED A TOTAL OF $ 140.00 FOR THOSE DVDS. I AM NOT FITTING WITH COMPANY TO GET MY $$$ BACK. WHEN I PURCHASED THERE WAS A DVD FOR FREE COMING WITH THE PURCHASE WICH I RECEIVED, AFTER THAT ONLY GOT ANOTHER DELIVERY A WEEK AGO WHEN I TOUGHT IT WAS VERY STRANGE TO RECEIVE THOSE DVDS AGAIN. SO I DECIDED TO CHECK IT OUT!!! JUST READ ALL THE SMALL LINES BEFORE YOU PURCHASE. PERSONALLY I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS BALL AT ALL, DOES NOT WORK THEY WAY THEY SAY IT SHOULD.

Yes, I've Used a Bender Ball

I am a member at my local fitness center and they have several Bender Balls. I never got a chance to use one until I joind the gym. Although I have just recently started using it in my exercise routine, I can feel how the ball works on the abs and the bend of the back. The first couple of times I used it, my back popped, but that was a good thing because now my back doesn't hurt near as bad anymore. I am planning, as soon as I can, to purchase my own Bender Ball so I can have one at home.

I just bought one at target

I just bought a bender ball 3 days ago and i've only been using it 1-2 times a day for about 10 minutes each and I can really feel it working as I'm using it and I can already feel a difference in my body. I love how many different ways you can use it. So far I've only used it for crunches and my side, but the ball comes with 3 dvds which show you different ways to use it and what not. Also, a lot of people will say that it's no different than other yoga and workout balls, but I think it is because I feel like it gives more support because you can (and it suggests that you) fill it up not all the way. I suggest it! :) good luck.

The damn thing works!

I'm a 40 year old guy. In decent enough shape, but definitely have the love handles and gut I detest. 1st time using it I relized I have a long way to go. Anyone complaining about it not working is foolong themselves because that are not following directions.

For 20 bucks I got the ball and 3 DVD's. I currectly suck compared to the girls inthe video, but let it be known I am coming for them! This gut must go, and clearly this little ball is just what I need. *Do the excercises the way they show you and you will firm those abs right up!

I second the "don't buy the bender ball" comment

I am still waiting on an $80.00 refund that has not yet come. They are still taking money out of my account, and I have returned all packages.

Not worth it!!!!!

Do not purchase the Bender Ball from their website. It's now being sold at Target for $19.99. Buy it and try test it and if you're not satisfied return it for a full refund with no hassles or shipping charges. I just brought mine yesterday and will post at a later time if it works or not.

DO NOT order this product

I ordered one of these Bender Balls Then they start sending you videos and make it hard to cancel the products that are going to come every month.
DO NOT order this product unless you are willing to pay out the extra monthly fees when they continue to send you videos and bill your credit card.
Overall the customer service representative was rude and unhelpful. Too much hassle for a product that you can find many other places cheaper. It is nothing other than an ordinary small excercise ball or playground ball.

This week it's on sale for $19 at Target with a $5 gift card. Comes with 3 work out dvds that aren't really a whole workout, more of a how to.

I LOVE it. I have low back pain and this has eased it.

I also have had 2 c-sections and a stomach repair surgery from the c-sections so it hurts to do a traditional sit up (my last c-section was 9 years ago and it's hard to do core training without pain and weakness).

for $14, it's worth the money!
