How much does water weight fluctuate?

I weighed 5 pounds less yesterday. Yes, I ate alot. It was my off day. I haven't digested it all yet (sorry, if TMI). I was just wondering, in general (if it DOESN'T change too much according to person), how much water weight does a person carry? How much do YOU carry? Im about 5 2", 159.4yesterday, about 165.4 today.

I already have a plan to get back on track, and I'll be weighing myself again at night to see the progression, but what do you all do when you have to get back on track? Im gunna go double time at the gym and lock down (no, NOT starve myself) on my diet.

I'm quite a bit taller than you, but I've varied up to 5 pounds in a day. A lot of that has to do with hormone levels, as well as the amounts of salt in what I was eating. Best advice: Drink plenty of water, up your fiber intake, get a good night sleep and enjoy a fun workout with lots of variation from what you would normally do.

I easily vary up to 3-4 lbs daily. It seems to remain more constant when I drink a lot of water, I guess it flushes it out rather than storing it? During my time of the month, I will go up 5-6 lbs the entire week, so I take a diuretic that week to help with the bloat, and really watch and lower my sodium. The last 2 months were the first doing that, and I noticed a difference.

I have varied that much too. When I stepped on the scale and was like "OH MY GOD?!!!" what happened to me???!! LOL. I think it is water weight too. I guess we should drink more water to help it.

I find that I weigh less in the morning. Therefore, I only weigh myself in the morning, totally naked, after I go to the bathroom, and before I exercise and eat.

6:21 - I definitely do that too. I almost feel like its cheating, since I only weigh that much for about 5 minutes out of every day. But I also feel like it's probably the most accurate - comparing apples to apples, so to speak.

I've heard that it can be anywhere from 3 to 5 pounds. Best advise I've heard is to pick a day and a time to weigh in and stick to it. They also said that while your losing weight it is best to weigh in just once a week (same time/day) and if your maintaining do it daily to help keep on track.
