Whcih is the best, lowest calorie fruit to eat while dieting? I've always thought watermelon because it seems to be mostly water-lol. Anyone know?

I hear a lot of good things about apples - mostly because of their fiber content.

actually watermelon has lots of sugar tho. berries are the best to eat by far. blueberries are the best of all of them, but any berry is fine. And usually they are about 60 calories a cup. Lots of nutritional value! Watermelon does not deliver much of that.

this is crazy, some of you will avoid eating a fruit because it is too high in sugar, but not think twice about downing milk and alli pills.

Berries and pears. HIgh in fiber to keep you full. The berries have more antioxidants though.

I second the pears- I read on that they actually help lower cholesterol.

Pears Promote Cardiovascular and Colon Health

Pear's fiber does a lot more than help prevent constipation and ensure regularity. Fiber has been shown in a number of studies to lower high cholesterol levels, good news to people at risk for atherosclerosis or diabetic heart disease. Fiber in the colon binds to bile salts and carries them out of the body. Since bile salts are made from cholesterol, the body must break down more cholesterol to make more bile, a substance that is also necessary for digestion. The end result is a lowering of cholesterol levels.

2:05-- you got the crazy part right, just look at your own post. nobody said anything about pills. the poster who said watermelon is high in sugar is a) correct, and b) recommending fruits that are nutritionally sound! your comment is aggressive and so random!

uhh... how about eat any fruit you can find, and no fried things, and it doesnt matter which fruit has more calories!?!!? WHy do you care, it's fruit!! So one has 10 more calories!! So what?

11:05-- Yeah, I kind of have to agree. Just eat it, and as long as you're not dipping it in a chocolate fondue sauce or covering with a layer of marshmallow, you're good. =)
