Gas Station Snacks

Hey All, hope everyone is having a cool Weds.

Got a quick question:

I'm road-tripping it to Vegas tomm night and Im going to be snacking and eating there. I was wondering, what are some good road-trippy snacks? Stuff that they would normally sell at rest areas? I am going to try to pack what I need, but this is vaca and I'll be with junk-food-eating girlfriends, too, so I will eventually crack and I may as well have a Plan B.

Usually, at a gas station my pick is beef jerkey, diet soda, apples (if they have any) any that's it. Anyone else have any suggestions? Please don't say 'dont buy stuff" because no matter what, I will. It's vacation.

I'm going to pre-package and pack a few snacks, too. Any suggestions there? So far I have: apples, 100 calorie packs (again, its vacation), non-fat olestra chips, tuna packets, and pre-popped popcorn (low-cal/nf).

Any suggestions would be great, thanks guys!

Target sells some really good nut&raisins mixes..just get the kind that doesn't have candy mixed in with it (chocolate stuff , etc.)..I've noticed that a handful of nuts & raisins really helps me during the afternoon when I want to eat junk ! have fun in Vegas ! what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas..except if you gain weight ! ha..ha.. :)

Just check the serving sizes on whatever you buy. If you buy a bag that has one serving in it, you're probably okay, but if the bag has 3 servings (as most do nowadays), even if you plan to stop after just a bit, in a long car ride, you probably won't!
