Wedding in two months HELP!

Sept.1st is right around the corner-I am on track an doing great, lost 15 pounds so far. I need to get rid of these last 10 before the big day. I am very healthy with the process, very active, get plenty of liquids etc. I just need some advice on how to "up the anty" so to speak. I am doing cardio 5-6 days a week, strength training 2 days a week and eating about 4-5 times a day-about 1200-1500 calories a day (roughly). What do you gals do to slim down fast before a big event? I feel in control and relaxed about the whole thing but I really want to see results....any ideas chicas?

Sounds like you're doing great!

I guess you could add some length to some of the workouts, but it looks like you're working out a ton already! (though I don't know how long you spend - if it's half hour a day, up it to 45 minutes. if it's an hour a day, you probably don't want to up it any more than that!)

Maybe add something like Pilates, to add some lean muscle? It'll make you appear slimmer.

Also, remember that stress sometimes causes weight gain all on it's own. I got married last September, and I was really careful about my diet leading up to the wedding, and still gained 3lbs in the last week before it!

Finally, your wedding isnt the "end" of the journey. I'm down about another 5lbs since my wedding, and I'm very happy about the weight loss, even though it didn't happen before the wedding! Though, I wasn't trying to lose weight in the first place "for the wedding," but rather because I needed to lose it. So all the weight I took off before the wedding (about 10lbs) was really a great bonus!

try cutting back on the salt. Sodium chloride is needed in your body but the average person eats something like 12 times more than suggested every day. That will help with some bloating and water weight but by no means cut back on the h20 consumption. Good luck!

You don't need to cut back on salt this much in advance. Just a few days before the wedding, to lose the water weight.

But if you plan to do this, try it out for a few days that are not near the wedding. I did this once for an event where I wanted to wear a dress that was a little too tight - it worked really well, but I didn't really feel good that night, kinda shaky and a little dizzy. Not horrible, but just not terriffic. Because of that, I decided against cutting down the sodium before my wedding - it was more important to me to feel good!

More weight training!

When I do more lifting and use the heaviest weights I can for 3 sets of 10-12 reps, I get slim, even if I don't get lighter.

My favorite is using the cable machine for obliques. Use a weight that makes it tough. I bet you'll see results in 2 weeks with a slimmer middle/more defined waist.

Also, make sure you're doing intervals in your cardio workouts. Steady state cardio work is something that your body will adjust to very rapidly. Push that aerobic/anaerobic threshold. And exercising at higher HR's means burning more calories.

Doing the same cardio all the time won't help either, so try to mix it up. Stairclimber today, ArcTrainer tomorrow, jogging the next day, spinning the next.

I'd make sure to lift 3x per week, plus cardio 4-5x per week, mixing the type of cardio up and with one cardio session at least 90 minutes. I'd try to throw in a couple of days of yoga if possible, too.

Yeah, I know, this makes for a BUSY week. I have a hard time fitting all this in sometimes!

Good luck. And you'll be gorgeous no matter what, but the extra boost of confidence does feel good.

Great suggestions!

Cool, this all looks do-able. I am going to try to change up my workouts and length that I do them. More weight-training with unfamiliar movements seems like a fool-prrof way to really change things up. thanks for suggestions!

More cross-training (use 2+ different cardio machines in one session), yoga, group classes, pilates, tae bo, etc. It doesn't sound like your eating patterns need to be changed. You're doing great! Good luck and congrats!!

OP here, actually, I should have mentioned that I don't belong to a gym (I live in a temerate climate and am outside roughly 300 days a year) Any ideas for outside/home workouts that don't require me buying a video or equipment? I have a yoga mat and weights.
