Excuses men give when lying
what's the best one you have heard, and how do you know when they are lying?
Thu. Jun 21, 11:27am
Yeah. Men are all liars. Great. 'Cause women NEVER lie. Ever.
Hmmm, what other hoary cliches can we drag out?
"Women- why can't these irrational creatures drive a car?"
"Blonds- Are they dumb or what?"
"Dad- he's a giant idiot"
Thursday, June 21, 2007, 11:37 AM
my dad is a giant idiot.
Thursday, June 21, 2007, 11:39 AM
i just hate the threads that pose a question for others to answer without the OP providing an answer, too. somehow i read these posts as demands that we share our opinions. does anyone else get that vibe, of being ordered to give feedback, when the OP does not contribute an opinion but asks for yours?

"excuses broads use for buying shoes"
Thursday, June 21, 2007, 11:50 AM
when i saw this topic i wondered what the reaction would be....i have to say, my immediate thought (as a woman) was that women lie as much as men sometimes about the same stuff and sometimes about different stuff. i'm glad nobody is going along with this.
Thursday, June 21, 2007, 12:01 PM
"chicks- are they crazy emotional or what?"
Thursday, June 21, 2007, 12:05 PM
"what's up with these kids and their crazy hip-hop music?"
Thursday, June 21, 2007, 12:08 PM
Girls lie too- wasn't that a country song recently?
Thursday, June 21, 2007, 12:09 PM
maybe all these threads are fodder for cosmo articles
Thursday, June 21, 2007, 12:11 PM
Maybe cosmo is posting lame threads to get ideas for lame articles...
Thursday, June 21, 2007, 12:13 PM
"reasons why this thread topic is stupid."
1) shallow
2) ignorant
3) sexist
4) presumptuous
Thursday, June 21, 2007, 12:24 PM
clearly a women posted the topic
as a women, i just want to say this to men: please don't think she represents all of us!!! I'm a 32 year old women and think the Q is ignorant.
Guess what! PEOPLE lie, no matter what sex, race, color, religion, or flavor or Kool Aid you prefer. It's in our blood to lie!
Thursday, June 21, 2007, 12:39 PM
Hahaha @ the flavour of Kool Aid
Thursday, June 21, 2007, 12:45 PM
Thanks! Thought i would shed some humor on the topic of lying!
Thursday, June 21, 2007, 12:54 PM
I think you may be onto something there.....
"What lies have you heard from KooL Aid drinkers?"
(because you know all those KooL Aid drinkers are all sugared up and compulsive)
Thursday, June 21, 2007, 12:57 PM
It's a conspiracy--I'm tellin ya!
Thursday, June 21, 2007, 1:14 PM
To 12:39, not trying to be fresh, or be the grammar police but just wanted to let you know that it's "woman" not "women" when you are talking about one woman in general or about yourself. Only had to point that out because you are calling someone else ignorant in your post while appearing so yourself.
Thursday, June 21, 2007, 1:28 PM
STOP THE PRESSES!!!!!!!! Grammar police on the loose!
Mistyping because I am in a hurry is SO different than being ignorant, don't you think--or maybe you don't think outside your box...
Thursday, June 21, 2007, 1:38 PM
hey ignorant 1:28 poster: USE A COMMA BEFORE the word BUT. Don't think you have the right to call anyone ignorant or pretend to be the grammar police.
CONTROL FREAK!
Thursday, June 21, 2007, 1:40 PM
Are there people out there trying to be me? Impossible! I am the true grammar police!
Thursday, June 21, 2007, 2:03 PM
I knew it was a pretender - a true grammar police(wo)man would know that a comma before but would be incorrect in that instance.
Thursday, June 21, 2007, 2:17 PM
My experience as a female...
Men lie to keep the peace and stay out of trouble.
Women also lie to keep the peace, but will also lie to make you feel bad.
Thursday, June 21, 2007, 2:20 PM
Oh sweet - this thread even got the grammer police involved!
I give this thread 5 stars :D
(I could be lying about that though)
Thursday, June 21, 2007, 3:11 PM
um, god doesn't like it when people lie. i heard about a new pill, though, that is supposed to prevent lies from being believable...anyone goning to try it?
Thursday, June 21, 2007, 3:15 PM
Oh Come On
Men lie
Women lie
Men lie about lying
Women lie about lying
All the lies and and the lying are usually about getting layed :)
Thursday, June 21, 2007, 3:15 PM
I'm getting layed right now...and i'm not lying.
Hahaha....this thread made my day :)
Thursday, June 21, 2007, 5:14 PM
5:14 - Are you lying about lying though? and if you're not - good for you !
Thursday, June 21, 2007, 7:02 PM
I agree with 12:24 but think the obvious reason is still missing: How about it has NOTHING to do with this forum! It is called PEER TRAINER, right?
Thursday, June 21, 2007, 7:48 PM
7:48 - get over yourself.
This is a funny thread, try laughing, you burn more calories
Thursday, June 21, 2007, 7:53 PM

Huh?
Okay, men tend to lie (in my experience) to hide things they've done for pleasure- sex, alcohol, gambling, "unapproved" buddies, etc.
Women tend to lie to protect their image- age, sex, amount of exercise, weight, status at work, wether they are wrong, etc.
It's a tough deal. Sometimes people make the argument that women's lies are more insidious, but the truth (no pun intended!) is that all lies hurt when the truth is revealed. I've found that men are more likely to break down and tell on themselves, which may be because women tend to confess to their friends about what they've done. There are no easy answers. All relationships are hard, and none are perfect.
